Hubby is back at work, foot is much better, but still too much swelling. Podiatrist stated he needs to massage it to break up the scar tissue-if I understood correctly.
Have taken advantage of the mild weather and sun shine (which makes me feel more like moving) to do clean up on the two patio areas that we use most for gardening activities as well as the garden beds.
Still getting enough tomatoes from the volunteers to have 3 or 4 cherries to add to salads. Lettuce, endive, spinach and garlic are well on the way.
I am taking off in a few minutes to take my grand daughter to town - school is out today. Then I have to do some exchanges at Walmart, and Daughter has changed my workout day to Friday. So it will be a while, but I will be back.
I would like to make a prayer request for my sister, who has just learned that she has a huge mass in her lungs (was coughing up blood) and it is likely untreatable cancer.
Hope everyone is doing well. Prayers up for all. Have a great weekend. God Bless.
Pinging the list.
My prayers for your sister...
We got a good bit of rain earlier in the week here in Central Missouri, but it has cracked off clear and warm since then.
Work has been kicking my butt this week, but I’ve managed to get a bit of cleanup done in the tomato patch in the evenings. There’s a bit more weed fabric to be picked up, which I hope to accomplish this weekend.
I’m still getting tomatoes and peppers, and have a mountain of green beans that need to be picked and canned.
We've got all our beds cleaned up for the winter, which is coming soon to NY.
Pinging the list... I am going to relocate my 5 year old Asparagus to a sunny place in my yard and hopefully double the output over the next week or so here in North Carolina.
I am so sorry to hear about your sister, and will include both her and your hubby in my prayers, Dear Greeneyes.
I dug up two healthy tomato plants in my garden trimmed them back and planted them in my double 5 gallon buckets. I have a sliding glass door that faces the south and going to try to keep them going this winter. Fresh tomatoes at Christmas sounds good.
Finally got the garlic in the ground this week.
Rest of the gardens have been cleaned and covered, except for the one with spinach, lettuce, and kale.
Chickens have been moved to their "winter residence" near the house - warmer for them and easier for us.
Will be at the polls all day Tuesday (asst registrar), making sure no cheating is going on (at my polling place, anyways).
"Pray Hard" (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Prayers for your sister now.
Prayers for all as you all care for her and support one another also.
It’s been a big week for us. No gardening to speak of. I’ve possibly been posting about it too often but going to share again. Our 2nd oldest granddaughter graduated from her USAF boot camp last week. Ceremonies last Thurs and Fri and she had daytime leave on Sat and Sun. So we went down to San Antonio Wed nite and stayed till Sun evening. I cried at both ceremonies, so proud of her. Made sure I took down some of her fave foods :) it’s what Grannies do.
We’ve had trouble being able to leave home since adopting a dumped-in-the-country kitten nearly 2 years ago. Our 2 dogs have always liked “spa time” as our local vet is a cousin of mine and the mutts like being around him. The cat, not so much. But we found a pet sitter this time to come to our house to make sure they were fed, watered and cared for :) That was a blessing and we will definitely use her services again. And she was willing to water plants if need be. But, we had rain!!!
Sunday’s drive home was in hard driving rain and we’ve had a bit over 4” in our rain gauge cumulatively since last Friday. Yay! Only garden related thing I’ve done since coming home is dump water from saucers and smush snails.
God bless and I hope you are all doing well with the election as history now.
Oh, and I forgot to mention another blessing. Our daughter from Alabama surprised us all by coming over for the graduation. She stayed Sun thru Tues with me and hubby as added special time. Had ripe tomatoes and lots of peppers to share with her too. I’m a happy woman this week.
