An attempt by Starbucks to unify the country ahead of Election Day with a green coffee cup has backfired after angry customers threatened to boycott the chain.
The company said the cups - which were unveiled on Tuesday and feature a drawing of more than 100 people drawn with one line - were intended to remind Americans of their 'shared values' at a 'divisive time in our country'.
But the move appears to have angered rather than united customers. Some thought it had replaced the company's traditional red Christmas drinking vessels, while others accused the brand of pushing a political agenda.

If the only place you could inhale was inside a Starbucks, I believe you could cross all of Washington DC and never feel uncomfortably out of breath. I have never seen so many of one business so closely packed together. If, one morning, Starbucks poisoned all of its coffee the entire US federal government would probably die.
Hey, maybe somebody should tell them that would cure racism and global warming.
Never been inside of a Starbucks. Never eaten a spoon’s worth of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream either.
Starbucks Coffee - in rural upper peninsula of MI a good cup of coffee is available somewhere other than Starbucks. I believe the nearest Starbucks is in Green Bay, WI
They figured that if you’re dumb enough to pay Starbucks’ prices for coffee
you’re dumb enough for some easy brainwashing. It’s called ‘targeted marketing!’
If someone GIVES me Starbucks coffee as a gift (as they have in the past) I’ll cut it with the cheap grocery store stuff I normally drink and gladly brew it. I won’t ever PAY for it myself, though.
I’ve seen the new cup - it looks like a ‘Where’s Waldo’ Cartoon...but since ANYONE can find ANY reason to be OFFENDED have at it, Kids!
America has BIGGER problems, don’t ya think? ;)
Switch to Dutch Bros if you live out west
“Havent set foot into a Starbucks in years.”
That makes two of us. It’s nothing more than status symbol coffee.
Coffee is all it is. Why get torqued out of shape by every idiot idea...
It is my view that they are a bunch of anti-American communist faggots. I would go in their with out a baseball bat to protect myself . This commie crap is coming to an abrupt halt next Tuesday . Buy a can of coffee and make a cup for 8 cents and quit getting screwed by these phonys!!
Almost none. If she wins, we need to split up the country.
It’s easy for me. I can’t stand the taste of coffee. The brewing aroma is enjoyable though.
On my way to the mines to slave away in IT, I pass within whiffing distance of a Starbucks facility. It’s kind of bitter.
This place is a fair way off my regular route. I never see the building.
Yup, vote with your wallet. That’s what I do.
I avoid liberal Targets and go to Walmart.
I avoid liberal Starbucks and go to Dunkin Donuts
First thing I do before I shop at a new place is check out their book section (especially the political and religious section) that will tell you a lot. Targets carries only books by Liberals and the Koran and Islamic books (nothing about Christianity)Oh, and it’s called a “Holiday” Tree at targets.
Dollar Tree has lots of Christian stuff so I go there
Yeah, I hate Starbucks coffee too. Recently received a $30 Starbucks gift card and have been using it for cappuccinos. I can drink those. Lol. I wouldn’t pay for them though.
That’s outrageous! How DARE she tell you what kind of day to have.
;-)
The CEO doesn’t care, since he said that he does not want the business of social conservatives, and also said that any social conservative should sell off Starbucks stock if they disagree with Starbucks’ social agenda.
So profit is meaningless? Twentieth Century Motors?
Starbucks has clean uni sex bathrooms. Haven’t bought coffee there in 5 years. Never regularly patronized them, anyway.
I'm not sure what the big deal is — sure you could make the leap from unity
to Hillary's slogan (Stronger Together
) but that is a bit of a leap: as everyone voting for President should have some commonality, that of being Citizens.
Sure, it is far weaker than in decades past because of deliberate undermining of our culture (like this) — but that doesn't negate the 'ought' that should be there.
In the Lakota tongue, “Starbucks” loosely translated means, “He who walks with chafed thighs”. (lol)
7-11 has been selling democrat, republican and neutral colored coffee cups this year. What was the outcome of that? I only heard that they started the sales but never the results.
