VANITY: YUUUUUUUUGE Early Voting Line in Broward County
Self | October 24, 2016 | PJ-Comix

(Note: I posted this on another thread about early voting in Florida but I think it needs a thread of its own.)

................................

Okay, I am now back from early voting at the Broward Country Library Tamarac Branch and I have some SHOCKING news.....

First of all I did NOT vote. Actually, as you shall see, this is GOOD news. The reason why I did NOT vote is that the line was BY FAR the largest I have ever seen it for early voting at this location. It was so large that it went thru the library and snaked out almost to the back door. I estimated the wait time to be around 2 hours. Maybe longer.

I have early voted at this same location several times before and the lines were NEVER close to being this long. In off year elections, the wait time is always zero to less than 5 minutes. In presidential elections, always less than 15 to 20 minutes. I didn't feel like waiting a couple of hours on that looooooong line especially since I didn't bring my cellphone headphones to listen to internet radio while waiting.

An elections official told me there were few people in the line when it opened at 7 A.M. and for about the first half hour so tomorrow I will be there at 7 to vote.

The GOOD NEWS is that any first time voting millennial who is sort of for Hillary will be bummed out waiting for over an hour on that looooooong line. I actually didn't spot anybody on that line that would even fit into that age group. Imagine the shock of a first time voter millennial seeing that line and realizing he/she would have to invest a couple hours waiting.

Well, tomorrow I will be there right at opening time at 7 AM to vote. But just in case, I will be bringing my headphones.

So in the words of Yogi Bera, you’re saying that nobody is going to go there because it is so crowded?

Refresh my memory, but what were the Broward county leanings in past elections?

I think any of your observations are pretty inconclusive, other than assessing who has the most motivated people.

It is good news. My Aunts live in Margate, which is in Broward County. Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Tamarac etc is all there and this is good news for Trump. The peiople are with him and my Aunt couldn’t even find a Clinton supporter. I don’t see how she will be doing well at all. Trump has Flrorida.

Tamarac/Lauderhill. This area is about 50/50 black/white registered voters. The line was about 75% white. Of course, since I was inside a library I couldn’t ask people what their choice was plus I don’t know if that would be legal. Few to none millennial voters. Mostly older folks.

god I hate early voting. Geometrically expands possibilities for fraud. Why can’t we just do the ink dip like Iraq?

Oh, don’t worry about violating laws. HRC was almost in the GD voting booth somewhere in NC Sunday.

In 2012 Broward went for Obama 508,312 to 244,101. Obama won FL by 70,000 votes.

And if it was some woe is me post, we know darn well the little cry army on FR today would be quick to join in the whaas.

The fact the Trump voters have a higher motivation should clue people in that this is a very good sign, instead of looking for the quickest route to dismissal.

We’ll be doing our voting on Wednesday in Washoe County NV(Reno). We’ll let you know how the lines are. If any. It’s a weird town politically. I just remember the lines last time around on actual voting day so we’re going early this time. NOT undecided. How stupid does one have to be to be undecided at this point?

My Aunts live in Margate, which is in Broward County.

I bet she used to go to the Margate Flea market on Tuesdays & Saturdays. They used to have a great vegetable section there. Then the city decided to buy it and use the land for some sort of development. You know what's there now? An EMPTY FIELD. And the only thing it is used for is to host incredibly tacky carnivals.
