Yeah, it was way too violent (beyond necessary) and almost a snuff film.
Very disturbing. If it continues, I won’t continue to watch it.
but we have seen zombie rip various humans alive in various gory details.
Maybe The Walking Dead went too far with the gore this time
It was more than shocking. It was also the goriest and most graphic episode the AMC series has aired thus far and it has us wondering: Did “The Walking Dead” finally go too far?
RELATED: 57 brutal The Walking Dead deaths in 97 seconds
And vice versa, but this was person on person which is different and I guess why it was so disturbing. But, you had the Governor decapitate Hershell, Rick killed Shane, etc...etc...
I'll continue to watch, of course I have cheated and read the comic so I have to just to see.
There’s always some horror beast that’s popular. Before this big zombie wave vampires were huge for 15 or 20 years. Before vamps it was slashers. Before slasher radioactive monsters. It’s not really a reflection of much other than the copy cat nature of entertainment. Once something hits big others will try to follow the formula.
It went past the comic book violence and entered the type of real world violence that we only need to turn on the news and see ISIS committing. Wouldn't be surprise if someone over there named Mohammed is now bashing in heads with a barbed wire-wrapped Louisville Slugger.
Strangely though, the most intensely violent scene for me was the one that didn't feature a drop of blood; Rick accepting that to save his remaining friends, he would cut his own son's arm off.
That was the scene that made me think, "Wow. This show is off the rails! They ain't playing around!"
To be sure, it was a rough episode to watch. I'm in it though.
I think the TV show didn’t make the Governor as evil as the comic. They have, within one episode, made Negan more evil than he was in the comic.
You can’t fool me. That’s from Matinee.
Cute movie.
Loved Goodman as Lawrence Woolsey.
The show Gotham is comparatively more gory than this because it’s network TV at seven PM. They had a guy murder a woman’s adult children and serve them to her last season.
Anyway, five minutes into last night’s episode, the Penguin declared his romantic love for the Riddler and I hit stop, delete, cancel series. Heh. I can take excessive gore, but hold the manlovin’, please!
I’ve never watched it until the marathon the other day. Excellent. We recorded this episode and I may buy all of them. I didn’t realize that it was so well done.
I really only know about it because of James Rolfe’s inclusion of it in his yearly Monster Madness. I should track it down.
It’s a little hokie here and there but it’s fairly clean and worth the watch if you like period or nostalgic movies.
It’s set in the 60’s during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
The visual of Glenn's face after Negan hit him then Negan's talking about the bulging eye was the turning point for me...........
Yes, I both laughed and was truly horrified at the same time. Kudos to the FX team on that one. Glenn's gimpy, twitchy bug-eye will go down in history as one of TV's most memorable moments.
Glenn's gimpy, twitchy bug-eye
Not funny in the least and your comment pretty much legitimizes a comment I made in private to another member here.............
I thought it would be Abraham, but was hoping the rumors about Glen were not true. A character like Negan would want to take out a strong person. Aaron and Eugene were not that defiant. Didn’t think Negan would pick a woman as that would make him look weak.
That left Rick, Abraham, and Glen, because Daryl was already wounded. We knew it wouldn’t be Rick, so I figured Abraham, but knew it could be Glen due to the stuff I read on the comics.
It was too graphic for me. I am not one to want to see a bunch of gore. I hate that they didn’t let Glen live. I knew Negan would pick someone else after Daryl hit him, because that was necessary to make the ones who might still want to fight back, realize that they would not be risking just themselves-so at that point, I knew it wouldn’t be Daryl who would die in this episode.
I feel that way too. It was already way more graphic than I normally watch, and if it continues, I’ll have to quit watching.
