Though not in the habit of posting vanities, I am in dire need of help from FReepers today! I'm in a heated debate with some people who are unsure who they will vote for.
They contend that the Benghazi tragedy happened because the Republican congress cut funding for embassy security and so Hillary is innocent. I mistakenly mentioned a stand-down order and was told thee was no such thing. Not wanting an argument about that much debated issue to cloud the real issue, Hillary, I need help explaining why she was to blame.

CIRCA 2015 NYP-— The job of Clinton damage control through a parade of scandals has fallen to her top aide (and perennial govt parasite) Cheryl Mills. Mills’ lack of cooperation is legendary. In fact, she’s been officially accused of both perjury and obstruction of justice.
Sworn affidavits, depositions and court rulings, as well as congressional reports and testimony, paint a picture of, to put it charitably, a brazenly dishonest cover-up specialist.
Among Mills shenanigans:
<><> •As White House deputy counsel, Mills ordered Commerce Department officials to “withhold” from investigators emails and other documents detailing then-President Clinton’s and First Lady Hillary Clinton’s allegedly illegal selling of seats on foreign trade junkets for campaign cash, according to sworn statements by Commerce’s former FOIA chief. “Ms. Mills, in her position as deputy counsel to the president, advised Commerce officials to withhold certain documents,” testified Sonya Stewart Gilliam in a July 2000 sworn affidavit taken by Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group in Washington. “The Commerce Department’s collaboration with White House Deputy Counsel Mills on these matters was, in my experience, highly irregular and at variance with normal procedures.
<><> •At the same time, a federal judge ruled that Mills “failed miserably” to take proper steps to search for and recover 1.8 million Executive Office of the President and Office of the First Lady emails under subpoena in the Monica Lewinsky and Filegate scandal investigations, after computer contractors discovered them mysteriously missing from the automated White House archiving system. Mills, who was in charge of finding the lost email, conveniently made “the most critical error” in recovering them.
<><> US District Judge Royce Lamberth concluded in a 63-page opinion, adding that he found Mills actions “loathsome.” In fact, Judicial Watch accused Mills of orchestrating a “cover-up” in what became known as “Email-gate.” Her court testimony in the case, during which she repeatedly answered “I don’t have a recollection,” sounds like an interview with an amnesia patient. (In the end, the emails were never recovered).
<><> •In another scandal, Mills “concealed” so many subpoenaed emails and other documents detailing allegedly illegal fundraising activity between the White House and the Democratic National Committee — specifically, Hillary’s illegal integration of White House and DNC computer databases — that staff lawyers for the House Government Oversight Committee in 1998 sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department demanding federal prosecutors charge Mills with obstruction of justice and perjury. “Ms. Mills knowingly and willfully obstructed the investigative authority of this committee by withholding documents,” the panel concluded in a 647-page investigative report. “Moreover, when this obstruction was brought to light in a hearing before the committee, Ms. Mills lied under oath about the documents and the circumstances surrounding their nonproduction.”
<><> •In October 2012, Mills sorted through key Benghazi documents and decided which ones to withhold from an independent review board. She also leaned on witnessses. Deputy ambassador to Libya Gregory Hicks testified before Congress in 2013 that Mills told him in an angry phone call to stop cooperating with investigators.
<><> •On behalf of the Clintons, Mills negotiated the weak conflict-of-interest rules for disclosing foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation with the Obama administration. She also reportedly helped broker international payments to the group. In short, Mills “is in the middle of it,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.

Fact is, Americans were lied to----we were told men and materiel were not available to help endangered Americans in Benghazi. REALITY CHECK-- The New York Times reports a year later Hillary’s private email account contained official info termed “sensitive but unclassified” (SBU).
According to the May 2015 NY Times article, Secy of State Hillary had '“information that included the whereabouts and travel plans of American officials in Libya as security there deteriorated during the uprising against the leadership of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi in 2011.”
Even more egregiously, Hillary was getting sub rosa emails from her henchman, Sidney Blumenthal, an individual who was banned from govt employment by Obama.

There have been numerous reports about security forces a few miles away
who were literally ready to go, loading up and boarding helicopters IIRC—and these reports included quotes from security forces who were THERE-—and they were told, no, don’t go. Not enough time, too late, yadda yadda. And these folks disputed that, saying there was time, they wanted to do something, but weren’t allowed. They were prevented from doing so by an order from on high—and IIRC, from whom the order came never been clear. I’m fuzzy on some of the details.
Ok, here’s what you need to know: there have been several threads on FR about the “stand down order.” Find those threads; perhaps use keywords “Benghazi” “Libya” “standdown” “chrisstevens” etc.
I’m a pretty new noobie and none of my searches ever work, but maybe this can help you or others to find the threads. I know they exist.

I am a immigrant from a corrupt country. Corruption permeates all levels of government. The reason for that is people accept corruption. Security people in Baghdad. Limited by availability of qualified people. They could have moved more people to Bengazi if they chose to.

Your friends are insisting the stand down order did not happen. They’re wrong. Present them with direct links to the posted articles.

There were heads of military who wanted to help and were within striking distance. They were indeed told to stand down. General Ham and Admiral Gaouette both were ready to send emergency response teams. Both were told to stand down. Both refused to obey the stand down orders. Hillary Clinton is directly responsible for the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and the fearlessly brave Americans who came to their rescue.
She is also directly responsible for the attack itself because IF Hillary had given Ambassador Stevens the additional Embassy security he had requested well in advance of any attack, the Muslim terrorists would have looked at the newly FORTIFIED AND SECURED Embassy and deemed an attack would be unsuccessful and too costly resulting in heavy casualties and death on their side. Hence the attack would never have taken place and Ambassador Stevens and the defenders who needlessly lost their lives would all be alive today IF ONLY Hillary Clinton HAD DONE HER JOB!
When the truth came out concerning Hillary Clinton's total dereliction of duty came to light, true to form, SHE LIED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO EXHONORTATE HERSELF AND OBFUSCATE THE FACTS! And her response to ALL OF THE ABOVE:

Addendum: there are other reports of Panetta et al denying there was a stand down order. But the subordinates are contradicting him.
So it’s important to remember Panetts was under the thumb of Hillary and Obama; he says what he’s told, to cover his own butt.
But the boots who were there say he’s lying, the CIA was involved, and a stand down order did happen.
That’s what you need to tell your friends.
Read the conflicting reports.

If Hillary wanted money for security she could have gotten it from the 10 Trillion dollars in new debt this administration took on.
Or, she could have gotten it from the tens of millions the Clinton Foundation has been accumulating- she did after all, claim that Stevens was a close friend [in spite of getting his name wrong in emails]. Surely she could spare a dime to keep her close friend safe?
Or, she could have cencelled the multimillion dollar landscaping jobs tat were underway at our embassies in Switzerland and Belgium at the time, etc.
Or, she could have cancelled the purchase of the grossly overpriced electric cars for the State Department and had employees drive the older vehicles another year or two.
Or, she could have done what Powell did and eat at McDonalds instead of having staff pig out at fancy shindigs.
Or, she could have cancelled some of those stupid videos.
Or, she could have cancelled seminars on gender/race an other horseschnitt they always have.
Or, if lacking money, she could have closed down the office in Benghazi until security improved instead of sending Stevens there because we had a full fledged embassy in Tripoli.
I guarantee if I had been Sec of State I would have provided security even if I had to hold yard sales of State Dept furniture.
