A member of the Swedish Academy that awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature to Bob Dylan says the American singer-songwriters silence since receiving the honor is impolite and arrogant.
Per Wastberg said Dylans lack of reaction to the honor the academy bestowed on him last week was predictable, but disrespectful nonetheless.
One can say that it is impolite and arrogant. He is who he is, Wastberg was quoted as saying in Saturdays edition of the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

Maybe he thought he didn’t deserve it.
Maybe it’s the Nobel committee that is arrogant and self important. Maybe Dylan just doesn’t care.

I’m not surprised. He never wanted the slogan ‘voice of a generation’ attached to him. He said it was up to people to lead themselves not depend on leaders. Good for you, Bob.

Dylan’s politics have been aptly described as “Red Neck.” I know he has a Concealed Carry permit and regularly packs a .45. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he plans to vote for Trump. He pretty much dissed Obama and refused to shake his hand

I believe there is some controversy that all Nobel winners this year were men.

haha, they gave Obama the Nobel Peace Prize before he warmed his chair in the Oval Office. And we’re (or Dylan is) supposed to take them seriously? (I know, I know, the Peace Prize is a totally different kettle of fish within the Nobel world.

In the past, he’s had a ranch farm that he’d get snowed in on and he would be pretty close to out of touch. Maybe those times have changed; but I don’t know about that.
