Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton is narrowing in on Donald Trump's lead in Texas, according to a new poll released on Tuesday.

Trump leads Clinton 41% to 38%, according to the latest University of Houston survey. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson stands in third place with 4% support, followed by Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 1%, with 11% undecided. GOP presidential candidates have won Texas by no less than 11 percentage points since 2000, according to a memo accompanying the poll results. Democrats last won Texas in a presidential race in 1976.

The poll also showed that, despite Trump's narrow lead, 53% of Texas voters thought Clinton would be elected as the next US president compared to 23% of voters who said they thought it would be Trump.

The Hobby School of Public Affairs surveyed 1,000 likely Texas voters between October 7-15 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. In another poll published Tuesday, St. Norbert College found Clinton ahead of Trump in Wisconsin, 47% to 39%, followed by Stein at 3% and Johnson at 1%.

The St. Norbert College poll surveyed 664 likely voters in Wisconsin between October 13-16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

This Texan has not seen a single Hellary sign and don’t know a soul who’s voting for her.

If the beast is ahead, then something funny is going on. She has been flooding the airwaves with ads. I have only seen one Trump ad many months ago.

TX Gov. Abbott refuses to endorse either candidate. He needs to get off the stump and pick a side. This wishy washy stuff isn’t going to get him another term.

*** “Fox is reporting the same thing. Anybody buying this?” ***

Not in my neck o the woods ... South Texas is a mixed bag but everyone I know that is going to vote Hates Shrillery.

I am dating a lovely Woman of Mexican extraction, her entire Family “Hates” Shrillery, I work with about a dozen Mexicans (their self description, not mine) They are about 50/50... it actually has nothing to do with the border or Immigration all those in favor of Shrillery say is “yeah it would be cool to have a Hot Woman as President”
All I can do is ask them if they have seen a picture of her lately, they really don’t pay attention ... we tend to work very long hours and party as hard as we work, most of it very far away from any TV. Chances of any of those folks voting is slim and they don’t care anyway.
They care about the price of Oil, their current Company and the payments on their 3/4 or 1 Ton 4x4 Diesel Truck and making sure they are still employed.

Most of the people that I was referring to have post graduate degrees and are put off by Trump in various ways. None of them will be voting for Hillary, but many might just not vote.

I haven’t been to Texas, so correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t a lot of people moved to Texas from liberal places like California? I know Austin is very liberal. Plus, there is a large (and I would assume growing) Latino population which tends to be more Democrat. If demographics continue as such, could they turn Texas blue eventually? For the record, I think Trump wins Texas this election.
