Hope you enjoy. Never My Love
Ronny Townson (the big guy with the beard) is the only 5th Dimension member no longer with us.
Heard that too.
Some cable station had a 60’s special on the other day, and they played a video of the Association doing this song live.
I knew it was one of them.....................
I helped wait on them (sixteen year old bus boy ... first real job) when they were having a before-performance dinner in the restaurant at the top of the hill within Blossom Music Center. Very nice and friendly people. Marylyn McCoo had her baby on her lap. She was absolutely beautiful ... and the baby was awfully cute too.
Which one plays the turntables?
Every song they recorded was a winner!

When you were a young lad: you were right.
Their best song, IMHO. I could listen to Marilyn sing all day.
I don’t know how she did it, but when Marilyn sang a song, it was TO you.
That one and this are two favorites

Sweet!

I just discovered the great and mesmerizing Laura Lyro last night and have been playing her continuously all day.
1971. 45 years. And we’ve gone from this to rap and hip hop.
The 5th Dimension were one of the best groups ever........
She really wanted to marry Bill, and I think wrote a song about it.
BILL! I love you so; I always will...
"She died of ovarian cancer in Danbury, Connecticut, on April 8, 1997, at 49,
So sad.........
I wish I had her albums. As it turned out I had most of her songs but covered by others or people who were influenced by her like Lani Hall and Melissa Manchester.
You must take a listen to her concerts on youtube. You will be swept away.
Marilyn was one of my TV crushes back in 1982 when she hosted Solid Gold. Loved watching that show from about 1982 to about 1984-85 (when 80s pop music began to go downhill IMHO).
And what a voice!
