Name the most BORING Movie You Ever Saw
Self | October 1, 2016 | PJ-Comix

A few days ago I watched the 2015 movie, "Steve Jobs" on the Tube. One word description: BORING!!! Despite great material to work with, it was one big borefest. Aaron Sorkin's scipt was largely to blame. It didn't feel like real people involved talking. It came off as a platform for SorkinSpeak. You can always tell a movie he has written. It has his peculiar SorkinSpeak which consists of rapid fire chit chat signifying nothing.

Okay, that is my idea of the most boring movie that I have ever seen. What is yours? Remember, this doesn't mean WORST movie, only most BORING movie.

I would go watch that if the bear kills him and has a jolly burp of digestion to end the film.

***Rocky Horror picture show***

Never been able to get through it. Way too faggoty for me!

I remember watching "Rocky Horror Picture Show" around 1985 and thinking it had to be the filthiest, most perverted movie I had ever seen, I was almost too embarrassed to make it through the entire movie. Then I watched it again during some Halloween marathon on one of the movie channels a couple years ago and it was laughable tame by today's standards. With about the worst thing being some sexual innuendo and sideways references to homosexuality and cross dressing, but with no actual nudity, it probably wouldn't even warrant an "R" rating today. (Probably says more about how much the moral standards of the country have gone down hill in the last 30 years than anything else....")

I do like musicals but another one guys like - it is great and still touring - is Jersey Boys. You’d like it. Excuse all that foul language tho.

At 13 I thought Rocky Horror was the coolest, most filthy, forbidden fun movie. I actually tried to watch it recently and could not get through it. Sheesh.

The Martian wasn’t boring. But it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped.

Hugo.

Yes. Hugo was over an hour or more before it ended.

Almost 350 post and no mention of the Lord of the Rings

The whole series is

1) Walk somewhere
2) Stop and make a long speech
3) Continue to walk somewhere
4) Have a big meaningless CGI overload crapfest battle when you get there
5) Walk somewhere else

Repeat over & over & over

It’s like watching someone else play Gauntlet. I was waiting for a narrator to say “Yellow Wizard shot the food” or “Green Elf is about to die”

Agreed. Adam Sandler is unwatchable. And when he starts speaking baby talk I can’t focus on anything except various techniques that might result in his permanent removal from harming society further.

That's because Adam Sandler plays the exact same character in every movie..."Adam Sandler". He has ZERO acting skills. He just shows up on set and does the same routine he was doing on Saturday Night Live twenty years ago, the one dimensional slightly off man-child. Be it a comedy, drama, or romance, it doesn't matter. Oh sure, he might try a goofy voice like in "The Water Boy" or "Little Nicky" but the only thing the audience sees is Adam Sandler doing a goofy voice. How he has managed to become and remain and A-List star for over 15 years now is one of the great mysterious of the universe....

I thought 2001 was fascinating until the third act when Bowman goes through the third stage of evolution to become the Starchild.

Yup, it was terminally slow.

RE: “Bobby Deerfield” - torturously boring 70’s film.

Yup. I remember just wanting her (Marthe Keller's character) to die.

Oh, I could think of several reasons.

You are at the theater with a spouse, friends, family and you can't very well just get up and walk out.

You decide to stick with a movie hoping it gets better.

You purchased or rented the movie and now feel you would be throwing money away not to watch it.

You have nothing else to do, the movie may be boring, but there is nothing else on so you just consider it the lesser of two evils.

The most boring one I can remember is “The Exorcist”. I saw people scared sh*tless literally running the aisles to get out. The only part that got a rise out me was when they stuck the needle for the spinal tap. The rest was just cornball (not so special) effects.

For me, “The Naked Island.” It’s a Japanese film from 1960 about a group of poor people who live on an island. Every day they walk down the mountain and get water, then walk back up. After seeing them do this for what seemed like days, I finally couldn’t take it anymore and turned the thing off. And I love “Last Year At Marienbad” and Eric Rohmer films, so it’s not like I need an action fix.

I've always thought I was pretty immune to boringness in films (I also love "Last Year at Marienbad" and I made it through "The Naked Island"), but nothing prepared me for "India Song" (1974). Now THAT was boring! It took me two sittings to get through the first 30 minutes and then I just couldn't go on.

I made it through the 15-hour "Out 1", and it was quite an experience, but I wouldn't sit through those hours of watching actors do rehearsals again.
