Name the most BORING Movie You Ever Saw

A few days ago I watched the 2015 movie, "Steve Jobs" on the Tube. One word description: BORING!!! Despite great material to work with, it was one big borefest. Aaron Sorkin's scipt was largely to blame. It didn't feel like real people involved talking. It came off as a platform for SorkinSpeak. You can always tell a movie he has written. It has his peculiar SorkinSpeak which consists of rapid fire chit chat signifying nothing.

Okay, that is my idea of the most boring movie that I have ever seen. What is yours? Remember, this doesn't mean WORST movie, only most BORING movie.

This is probably the most boring and worst movie I’ve seen: “Vanilla Sky.” My mother and I couldn’t figure out what the hell it was about. Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz starred in it.

I have had a horrible experience over the years with Tom Cruise movies. Only good one I have ever seen is “A Few Good Men” and it really wasn’t good because of him.

Funny fact: a few years back there was an article about Beatty that purported to list all his movies.

Ishtar was not listed. Likely by Beatty’s own insistence.

I’ve occasionally joked about using Ishtar and a few other bad movies (that aren’t bad enough to be good) — Highlander 2, Maximum Overdrive ... The Son of the Mask (shudder) — as a form of punishment ... making them the only movies available for prisoners.

I offer up to this thread the movie Saturday Night Fever. It didn’t suck but it is dull and uninvolving.

I think that both sequels to the Starship Troopers movies were boring as all get out. . . and the first Star Trek Movie, which was a remake of a TV script with a lot of “Gee Whiz, look what we can do with a big FX budget” for the fans.

The last two of the Harry Potter films were turned into a boring mess because they spent an inordinate amount of time wandering around in the wilderness to extend the time to make what would have been one exciting movie into two movies when one would have been sufficient, but the studio wanted two for profit motives. . . resulting in TWO boring movies with each have some moments of excitement.

Waterworld

I saw that by accident and found the only relief from tedium was when Dennis Hopper was atrociously hamming it up.

Blair Witch was such a piece of garbage...my wife and I thought it was pretensions and dumb. We saw it on TV and couldn’t believe people saw it in a movie theater.

Actually, I've liked every QT movie except this one, but I did find your line funny: "As an example, in Kill Bill, it was a 20 minute TALK scene when Uma was ready to kill Bill. Sh*t dude, just kill him and STFU."

Unfortunately, way too many of his characters have long winded conversations that add NOTHING to the film except to make it come to a temporary screeching halt! =)

I liked Chariots of Fire also. There is a documentary about Eric Liddle and the olympics that I found interesting. Liddell ran the 400 meters at a 100 meter pace.

You just had to go and do it, didn't you? You had to resurrect the deeply buried memory of that horrid sequel from my repository of things best forgotten. I had hoped that I would never have to think of such an ill conceived and ill executed plot that completely threw out a well thought out plot device of the original movie to bring in an entirely idiotic idea of an idiotic alien race, idiotic in its changes to the mythos, idiotic in its embracing of the ecologic disaster of ozone holes and thinning, idiotic in its up-ending of the entire set-up of all that went before it, including MacLeod's own history and birth as an immortal on Earth among mortals and early ignorance of his nature . . . but, NNNNOOOOO! You went and did it. You brought up Highlander II: The Quickening, on of the worst movies ever released.

It was SSSSOOOO BAD it could never be ever close to "good" or even "camp". The studio kept revising and releasing newer and different versions in DVD in misguided attempts at fixing it to please the fans and never could fix that abortion of a movie!

Correct. Compare the first scene in Reservoir Dogs about TIPPING in a restaurant. All the characters had perfect timing in that scene trading arguments why they should tip or not. Now it’s just one irrelevant line per line nonsense that doesn’t captivate the audience.
