RIO VERDE, AZ - It was an epic battle between two rattlesnakes and it was all caught on camera.
The wrestling match went down Wednesday night, in the backyard of a home near Dynamite and Pima.
Bryan Detwiler says his patio became a ring-side seat.
one of them had a stroke and fell off her little stool
You just can't make this stuff up folks.
More like 2008 DNC primaries: the Chicago DNC mob versus the Arkansas Crime Family.
Looks more like they are mating
Why didn’t he kill them?
I would have fetched my scattergun, killedem, skinnedem and roastedem.
Roasted rattlesnake is good to eat, plus, tanned, rattlesnake skin makes a nifty belt!
I’m assuming head shots, of course! Wouldn’t want to ruin the meat or the skin!
What was he thinking?
Very astute.
Here is a video of a pair mating interrupted by an AR-15

I have a friend who lives in a subdivision right on the edge of Lake Elsinore. The hills are her backyard. She and hubby came up to spend the weekend with us and after they got home she sent me a pic of a rattlesnake curled up right by their front door. Apparently they went in and out unloading the car before noticing it. I told her I’d be moving. Lol
Sorry. Lake Elsinore, Ca.
I've lived in Colorado where rattlesnakes are plentiful. I've also lived in Arizona where there are lots of creatures you have to be aware of in addition to rattlesnakes.
It wasn't until my move to Louisiana that I had my first mishap with any of them. I got bit by a baby copperhead that had curled up inside a hollowed out decorative edging block like you put around trees etc. I can tell you that they are not only painful, like a bee sting times 10, but expensive experiences.
I’ve watched black snakes mate before. Very interesting actually took a couple of pictures. Was the envy of the local naturalist officers. Lol
I have a snake phobia. Trust me, I’m more afraid of them than they are of me lol
Tastes like chicken!
My shot gun would have been dominant.
At least he went out smiling and happy.
That looks like a big W! Get the shovels!!
I saw a documentary about this a couple of months ago. This is how they compete for dominance. The one that can stand the tallest is the alpha male, the other has to wait and challenge again later. And you’ll notice they don’t try to bite each other, it’s just a test of strength and stamina. The strongest will lead. The other will submit.
What a buzz-kill (fer the snakes).
