Alexander Anthony Clever, who pleaded no contest to a first-degree murder charge in July, will not be eligible for parole, the DA’s office said in a news release.
In addition to the no contest plea, the defendant also admitted to special circumstance allegations of torture and mayhem, prosecutors said.
Clever went to a motel — identified by police at the time as the Motel 6 at 2470 S. Garey Ave. in Pomona — on Nov. 29, 2014, with his girlfriend, Yvette Silva, and two others.
At some point, he went into the bathroom with Silva and the pair argued, according to Deputy DA Michael Matoba, who prosecuted the case.
The couple’s companions tried to intervene after hearing muffled screams. When they went into the bathroom, they observed the defendant holding Silva, who was unconscious, in a chokehold, the release stated.

Police responded to the scene and discovered Silva deceased in the shower; her heart and right lung had been removed from her body, according to the release.
Silva was still alive when the lung was cut out from her body, according to Matoba.

As in the case of the hundreds of murdered victims in Chicago, most are murdered by others of their same race, not white sheet-wearing KKK crackers from the 'burbs.
True for some, but obviously not everyone. Either way, no need to get all up in arms when someone does. I do find it interesting that I can find no pictures of either the perp. or the victim in this case. Why is that I wonder?
Just out of curiosity has there ever been an Amish who was charged in a crime posted here, other than one I remember of them partying in a field and disturbing the peace or something along that line. I'm sure there are instances of Amish committing crimes, but it is rare. Either that or they are so clever that they actually get away with their crimes.
LOL! We had a friend from the Rio Grande Valley who said that he and his brothers all had long braids in the late 70s. One night when they were all asleep, their mother went around with sewing shears and cut all the braids off.
I have occasionally threatened my sons, who are heavy sleepers, with something similar! #2 Son hasn’t had a haircut in almost two years: he looks like a bear.

I went through about a dozen news sites and not one had picture of either of them. Pictures of the outside of the motel, of a generic jail cell, etc., but nothing useful.
I will search for mug shot sites, but they won’t have any of the victim probably.
I would say someone went to a lot of trouble to scrub pictures of the perp. Skeptics should try to find one themselves. I’ve never noticed a perp photo so hard to find. From the news articles, the perp seems to be a Motel 6.
No luck.

This is odd. Mug shots are supposed to be available to the public. Maybe somebody has to go in person to the PD.
