To me, I only see Marylyn when I focus to the right side off of the picture proper and form an image from my peripheral vision.

It looks like Einstein with some Monroe features to me, up close, but standing back it looks more like Monroe with Einstein features. Oh well.

Marilyn is rendered in low frequency information (no sharp edges) and Albert is rendered in high frequency information (all sharp edges.)
If your eyes are out of focus, that is essentially a low pass filter and Albert is filtered out so all you see is Marilyn. Likewise, if your eyesight is normal but you back of enough that Albert’s details are finer than the resolution of your eyes, again Albert is filtered out and you can see Marilyn again.
You can create a low pass filter by squinting your eyes until things are out of focus. When you do, Marilyn appears.

The only part that looks anything like Marilyn is the hair.

With my glasses on, I see Albert. Without the glasses, I see Marilyn. Interesting. Thanks for the post.

I don’t see Marilyn at all. If I blur my eyes, I see the shape of Marilyn’s hairstyle, but Einstein’s face.

I have to step far away and squint to see anything resembling Monroe.
