This link should take you to Season 1, Episode 1 of the entire series. I grew up with this and thought some of my fellow Freepers might enjoy it.
Mods feel free to move if need be.
Sad about Vic morrow had the worst case of dandruff Yippers they found his head and shoulders in the bushs
Another great old show
Oh man, that used to be just about my favorite show.
They used to be shown to us at the
Sand bowl in chu Lai. It was good for a laugh.
“At least Rat Patrol was in color.”

Not much better - sand was all one color.
Some Combat episodes are really good, plot, story line, all. Even Germans or French speaking their native languages I think.
Rat Patrol I think at times, was a bit hokey, not to knock it.
Combat is on “Heroes and Icons”, a channel (12 o’clock high is on there too); they have a few good shows really and we have it on cable, not satellite. My friend put up an antenna or dish but he gets it too though he’s not on a satellite package.
I just remember being a kid and watching on the news that he died tragically.
My favorite show in 1965-1966.
I cried when Cage got shot—I thought he had been killed.
i remember when it was black and white, and then, in color.
Combat was before my time but I came to enjoy the episodes depicting WW-II in a semi-arid western Europe.
That was my favorite show too, when I was a kid.

That was my thinkin’ too.
Combat seemed realistic, “Rat Patrol” had kind of a “A-Team” feel about it.
I had a Rat Patrol lunch box when I was in 2nd grade.
I have some of the trading cards around here someplace
I remember that show when it first ran! Dates me, but it did make me proud to be an American.
Several episodes were filmed at Korbel Winery in Guerneville, CA.
There was a lot of action in the vineyards. Some of the buildings resembled European structures, so it was a believable setting.
Combat was in black and white for the first few seasons to take advantage of actual footage from WW2.
Also, the series was shot in then rural southern California and did not resemble a milder northern France climate.

While looking at the first episode linked in this post I noticed they also used footage of actual artillery in some spots. Didn’t think of that when I was a kid, but it added to the gritty realistic feel.
The Rat Patrol, while in color, seemed more as entertainment, sometimes pretty light entertainment - e.g. as in the ending of the first episode (cited & linked in this thread):
