It was always great to see him in a film. He added more character than 90% of the leading men.

He played Detective Crosetti in the TV series “Homicide: Life on the Street.” Crosetti was always talking about the conspiracy behind the Lincoln assassination.

MILLER’S CROSSING is an awesome film.
One of the best period gangster movies ever.

MILLERS CROSSING is an awesome film. One of the best period gangster movies ever. It's a great film with many great actors and performances, but to me Polito gave the most colorful and memorable performance in the film, especially his "ETHICS" speech (which is saying a lot when your co-stars include acting greats like Albert Finney).
Polito will be missed...RIP.

Exactly. You just illustrated the problem with so many of the bland, pretty-boy models that pass for leading men in films. Can’t tell one from another. Mr. Polito always stood out, and in a good way.

I remember him in the Coen brothers' The Man Who Wasn't There talking about "fiery Mediterraneans." It was funny because he was so obviously Italian.
