Return of the Ewoks sucked also
Exactly. I saw the first prequel in the theater and couldn’t follow it. The rest I waited to see on tv, and they are all unwatchable.
I didn’t think that anything could be worse than the first three. But I was wrong
BTW: “Live long and Prosper” is a better salutation than “The Force be with you”
The muppet-like appearance that the characters began to take on, even in the third installment (Episode VI - Return of the Jedi), killed it for me. They became the equivalent of a made-for-t.v. after school special.
“Star wars” and “Empire” were great fun and none of us took them seriously. “Return Of The Jedi” started out OK but then just sort of fizzled.
I do think the Ewoks were the worst thing in all of them. Even worse than Jar Jar, who we could at least not take seriously.
I first saw the prequels on a Christmas week Star Wars TV marathon. I never even knew they existed until I saw them that day. (I don’t “go to” the movies) I specifically remember wondering if they were crowd funded fake movies... yes, they were that bad.
The first 3 movies back in the 70s were good. Haven’t cared to waste my time or dollars on those that followed.
I liked Jar Jar.
I have to mute or skip over the Anakin parts
The kids watched them for laughs. I saw three minutes of one. It was memorably painfully boring.
The Star Wars Holiday Special was the best of all.
Someone put Jar Jar into a spoof of Iran's multiple missile launch, and the official Iranian news mistakenly used the spoof instead of their own photoshop. Mesa thinks someone lost at least his freedom and not just his job over that.
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. The Force Awakens (the new one)
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Revenge of the Sith
6. The Clone Wars
7. The Phantom Menace
I ended up liking the first prequel. Lots of new characters many of whom worked. My daughter was little and was astounded by it. The next one was garbage except for the ending battle. The last one a deep disappointment.

of all, the prequels, I liked the third one because it showed Anakin slipping further over to the Dark Side.
It also explained how and why he fell into the Dark Side as well as what happened to Anakin’s/Padme’s kids as well as the destruction of the Jedi.
