Many millennials hate interacting with people, according to a new survey. Nearly a third of people 18 to 24 prefer ordering from the drive-thru at restaurants because "they don't feel like dealing with people," according to a study by Ohio-based Frisch's Restaurants, which owns and franchises 120 Big Boy Restaurants. That's bad news for fast-food employees.

The problem is dealing with non-English speaking people that cannot get a simple order right. No one of any age wants to deal with that.
I’m about thirty years older than the millennials and I hate dealing with people. Wish me luck on my next lottery draw.
I don’t find this difficult to understand at all.
You beat me to it.
Don’t trust anyone under thirty. To many are zombies.
I know very well most of them do. Well, I don’t really like “dealing” with them either so we’re even. They’re not all flaky little bastards but they’re that hashtag generation with their spotty little faces buried in their telephones
The only difference is we grew up with no choice but the Millenials are all like, I don’t have to deal with a surly teenager anywhere else in my life (except my peers), why should I have to deal with it in a freakin fast food place?
I’m 45 and I feel the same.
Dealing with the technologically inept day after day and sometimes having to show face at some feel good event has made me bit curmudgeonly.
Don’t worry, millennials, you will be soon replaced by robots
Awwwwwwww! Poor widdle snowflakes. They are scared of people.
Maybe drive-throughs and regular restaurants need to create ‘safe spaces’ for the widdle darlings.
I am not a millennial (Generation X), and I have an aversion to dealing with people but it is a selective aversion.
I will use the ATM at the bank because it is faster. I still use the manned checkout at the grocery store but if I get the sullen, curt college kid again I think I will try the self-checkout. I like to order online for lots of things, because I avoid malls. I visit small cities and towns, and do my best not to go to large cities.
I’ll stop there.
The biggest problem I’ve found with drive-thru’s and even over the counter fast food places is that you really, really need to double check your order...
Not the $15.00 minimum wage, screwed up teenagers.
Well, they’ve got to get out and about for their selfies. So, they just need to find employment that’s selfie-worthy. Good luck with that, for the majority.
Give the counter people ipads or the like . The millennial texts his/her order to the counter person that happens to be standing right in front of him/her.
That’s how millennials are used to ‘talking’ to others.
I watched my grandson and his girlfriend conversing via texting to each other at a ballgame. They were sitting next to each other.

There’s nothing like personal isolation to help boost an economy as well as people’s general moods!
