BDE. Blessed is the true Judge. Gene Wilder will be missed, but I hope he is with his beloved Gilda.

In test screenings, black activists went NUTZO over the oompa-loompas, “They’re a mockery of AFRICANS..!!!”
It went on and on and on, and the movie was very nearly not released.
They painted them orange with green hair, to make them other-worldly, the better to get as far away as possible from the African Perception.
Finally the movie could be released.
The idea for the first reveal glimpses of Willy Wonka to the curious crowds surrounding the factory as being SADLY HOBBLED, but then revealed as just a ruse, was completely the idea of Gene Wilder.

Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Stir Crazy, died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimers disease. He was 83.
RIP

Too old school for people under 35!
When he worked with Richard Pryor, it was always insanely funny!
I seriously think the last time I saw him in a movie was at a drive-in in the real early 80s.
