With all the recent late-August talk of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand and salute to the National Anthem which caused a fierce debate on social media and the press, we all know that some folks in this country loves to burn the U.S. flag. Although it is constitutional, what would you do if someone near/in front of you burned the U.S. flag? I remember some communists burning the U.S. flag near a park in NYC last year. What would you do?
I am 71 and handicapped. My 6x GGrandfather fought in the Revolutionary War. Therefore I would apply some serious “WompAss”, then wait for the my Grandsons to pick me up and take me home
In Texas there’s only one appropriate response. Stomp a mudhole in your A$$ and walk it dry.
Tell them to go live in the great middle eastern countries they so claim to love more than the U.S.
All i’ll say is the same flag that was laid over my father’s casket (WWII), laid over my brothers casket (Vietnam) and it will lay over mine (Vietnam). Disrespecting the flag in front of me might be costly!!
Go to jail.
Good answer.
In my state, both the US and state flags hold legal status as “venerated objects.” And by state law, intentional desecration of any venerated object is a Class A misdemeanor criminal offense. So my first move would be to place the offending party under Citizen’s Arrest.
And if they resist arrest, it’s game on.
It depends. Are they burning my flag on my property in the night time in Texas? That’s theft and arson. I might call my lawyer real quick to check, but in Texas I’m pretty sure the law says I have two reasons shoot them. If they are burning someone else’s flag on my property at night, it’s still arson and I can still shoot them.
Would I shoot them? I don’t know. Maybe I’d just make them squeal like a pig. ;)
They would be seriously f.cked up and I’d might probably be in jail.
Been there done it before...
:o)
Stop, Drop and roll their a$$ until flames went out.
Bend them over and insert a road flare thereby curing their hemorrhoids. Recover the flag and fold it properly.
I’m trying to make arrangements this week to host a public flag retirement ceremony wherein we will dispose of about 50 flags by burning.
We plan to drape them over a cable, spray them with propellant and use a remote ignition device, probably a rocket motor.
We’ll begin with the pledge of allegiance and while standing at attention thank God for the freedoms we have and for those who fought under our nations colors.
As for sme idiot burning our flag in protest, he has no excuse and I would do my best to extinguish the flames.
Do a Rick Monday.

Burning is the officially approved manner to respectfully retire a worn out flag. So I would do nothing if that is the perpetrator’s intent.
If someone is deliberately trying to desecrate a flag as part of their protected right of free speech, I would exercise my right to free speech also, as strenuously as I could.
Amen, brother you and me both. If I am on your jury, you will be found not guilty.
You mean if I thought I could get away with it...
