My most famous or influential people include Red Skelton, B. B. King, Tim Allen at a party, and Tom Gale, The designer and collaborator with Bob Lutz on the Dodge Viper and variants.
:) Was this in the garage or on the course?
Jesse Helms, Charlie Daniels, George Clinton, Andre The Giant, Richard Petty, Kathryn Crosby, Michael Jordan.
Dan Gurney? I lived in the house where Dan grew up.
Gerald McRaney at a GWB rally. Really nice, humble guy.
Driver in New York had to pick up Chelsea and her husband at Teterboro. Said she was just nasty. Unloaded the plane and just left everything on the tarmac for her husband to carry. He said to her husband, “Sorry, man.” He responded, “It’s my life.”
Said Sandra Bullock was awesome. Told him to call her Sandy.
Cardinal Burke, who I believe may be one of our greatest popes some day.
He came in my work place to by some cigarettes.
“Scott Baio when he was about 11. Family in Brooklyn were friends with him :)”:
Met Lou Ferigno when he was doing ComicCon in San Antonio last year. Had a great conversation with him about Avenue U, the local gym, late nights at Randazzo’s in Sheepshead Bay and some of the local folk.
Met Donald Trump when we were building out the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. I was the Project Manager handling some of the stores going in and he showed up for a meeting. Said, “who is the Project Manager?” My boss said I was. He said, “Everyone listens to him” and he left the room.
Met various NY Ranger and NJ Devil players. They would show up at my coaching clinics and tournaments to sign autographs and talk to the kids.
She didn’t grope me but I skied a few runs with Picabo Street in the ‘90s when she became the “Skiing Ambassador” for Park City Mtn. Resort. She was very friendly and nice to talk with.
Ronald Reagan
Gerald Ford
John Wayne
Clint Eastwood
Audie Murphy
Desmond Doss
Greg Boyington
Jimmy Dolittle
Johnnie Carson
Robert Mitchum
Off the top of my head. Ronnie was my favorite.
I read that Andre the Giant wouldn’t go to the movie theater because he was afraid his large size would block the view of the other patrons.
I used to jam on Sunday nights with Billy Ray Cyrus & his band Sly Dog at the old Ragtime Lounger in Huntington, WV. Fun times on occasion considering the insanity of that club & crowd.
Adlai Stevenson in 1956 when he was running against Ike. My parents were depression era FDR people involved with Stevenson’s campaign.
Edvard Teller gave a talk where I worked. We later took him to dinner. Smart nice guy.
“I met Bob Hope at the Sandwich Airport in Illinois on the same day Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.”
Wow! That brings back memories. I can’t imagine why Hope would be at such a tiny little airport. Way back when, that runway was great to log repeated take offs and landings, lol.
Hammerin’ Hank Aaron, on a plane sitting on the tarmac at the Milwaukee airport.
oops - I hit the send button before realizing my mind isn’t working well this morning.
Let me try again -
Are you an alumnus/a?
:D
He was a humble, quiet and very large man. I met him near the end of his life. He was obviously not feeling well, but he was pleasant, made conversation, shook hands and greeted anyone who came up to his seat on the plane.
