“Knife” is a much more immediate track, but after time (and a word or two) this is the track on Trespass that really shines for me, so I opted for that.
Unfortunately there was no acceptable YouTube for kC “Pictures Of A City” which is just a really fun and hooky track driven by Mel Collins’ sax. Sure it’s a lot of phrasing borrowed from itCotCK, and we could do without the coffee break around 5:00, but I’d still rather have used that for the deep track from this release.
I like Stagnation too, one of Banks’ best solos.
Having heard some of Ant Phillips’ solo work, I was always curious what would have been had he stayed on.

Heh, we could start a whole thread about common misconceptions of famous lyrics. I can’t even remember all the lyrics I mangled as a kid ;-)
I think you are right-and those like my cub did not hear the song until years after it was first released, but by then the kiss this guy thing was a kind of urban legend-so maybe when they heard the tune, that is how they interpreted it?
How many people still think Elton John sings “she’s got electric boobs, a mohair suit” in Bennie and the Jets? It has always been one of my fav tunes, but the first time I heard it I thought he said “boobs” instead of “boots”-so did the guy I was with...

Amazing. I didn’t know Dylan could even play that well.
Yeah, I’ve heard some of those European Death Metal bands. Their music is disturbing, even for me.
Their songs make “D.O.A” sound like a party song.
I’ve always heard Dylan was a lousy guitarist-that is interesting-how long ago was this-maybe he has improved in recent years?

That’s too funny. My ears always heard, “electric boots”. Maybe I just had a good sound system in those days.
To this day, I sing, “Baby I’m amazed”, even though the lyric is, “Maybe I’m amazed”.
I’ve only heard it blaring from the neighbor’s shed-and if I stop to talk to him about work, I can hear the words-I don’t know how he listens to that so much without spiraling into major depression, but he doesn’t have much of a sense of humor, so maybe that is it...
That is what made me think I’d misheard-that he was known to be flaming-he sings about being hetero/normal in other songs, too-like Island Girl-about being in love with a Jamaican hooker...
That’s because Bernie Taupin, who is straight, wrote the lyrics.
I thought it was Baby I’m amazed, too-
The first time I heard Benny and the Jets I was in my fiancé’s truck on the expressway, and we were in a shouting match, dropping F bombs on each other-when the song came on, we both shut up to listen because we thought we heard “electric boobs”. Another time we were about to get into it walking into a mall when we passed the stereo store and heard Long Cool Woman by the Hollies blaring from it-we started dancing, fight forgotten-rock was good for that relationship...

Well, he has had over 40 years to master Jimi’s version. Almost anyone could, over half a lifetime.
Dylan began as an acoustic guitar strummer. Mostly he just played block chords as accompaniment to his ‘singing’ and harmonica work. He was really more of a performance poet than anything else.
When he began playing the electric guitar in concert back in the seventies, his fans objected, but he stuck with it anyway. He really was awful, and I was embarrassed for him.
I’ve never kept up with him, so who knows? Maybe he really put in the work to become an excellent electric guitarist.
That explains why the lyrics about love and sex in the songs sound personal and real...

Sounds like the sort of relationship that could be adapted to a screenplay. Those had to be some interesting years. You’ve obviously done some real living.
