Attended a county seniors' picnic today as a staff member helping serve over 1,200 lunches. Toward the end of the lunch the MC asked the audience whether they would vote for Clinton or Trump. Clinton voters were in the clear majority. Disappointing from people who should know better.

Agreed. I know a few 70 year old guys that Beau hunts with; they are NUTTY when it comes to politics! All of them hate Hillary, but they’ll vote for her, anyway!
Granted, some of them have worked a little harder than others, but I’ve never met a bunch that thinks they DESERVE everything...for pretty much doing nothing with their lives.

to expect anything other than these doddering old fools to vote for clinton would be crazy. back in the day they consistently returned Jerry Studds to the Congress, even though he allegedly had sex with an underage male who was a Congressional page. He got totally away with it.

I was born there and have a lot of relatives there. Fortunately my parents moved to Texas when I was very young, but we visited many times.
Of course they are for Hillary, they are socialists who love centrally planned economies.

I agree with you, but that is not a very popular stance to take here on FR. Fact is, my parents generation (the boomers) have spoken - they have chosen to take every dime that was promised to them by the spendaholic politicians they elected and let their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren pay for it.
They are on top of the pyramid scheme and they don’t give a damn who has to pay for it or how bad the damage will be to their children and the nation. This is not true for all of them, but it is absolutely true a majority of them feel this way. They tell us “but, we were promised” never admitting the pain that will come later. They simply don’t care. They will not be around when winter comes.
They will vote for her because it is in their selfish interests.
We keep a boat in a marina south of Boston. We have a large group of friends on our dock and with the exception of 2 couples all are seniors. Only ONE couple backs Hillary and he’s a union guy who loves his benefits.
What would you expect from that state
