On Monday's New Day on CNN, during a discussion of the FBI turning over notes on Hillary Clinton's email server testimony to Congress, and whether GOP candidate Donald Trump will manage to successfully use the email issue against her, CNN co-host Chris Cuomo at one point complained about Trump accusing the media of bias against him as the CNN anchor declared that the GOP candidate was "made in large part by the amount of attention he got from the media."
The New Day co-host went on to recall that "We've juiced him to get into this race because we thought it would be exciting, he was given a pass on a lot of the stuff that came out of his mouth early on," before sarcastically adding, "and now he's a victim of the press."
At about 6:20 ET, as the group discussed a Monmouth University poll finding most Americans believe Clinton has been dishonest about her email server, but that most are "tired" of hearing about it from the media, CNN political commentator Errol Louis declared:
As far as the Trump campaign, again, those numbers suggest to me that voters are making up their minds. They hear this. When you see these numbers about honest and trustworthy, about Hillary Clinton, it means people are absorbing the report, you know, I mean, a lot of the reporting about Cheryl Mills, about some of these connections between the State Department and whether or not they were supposed to be involved in Clinton Foundation activities. This stuff is being reported.
He then added:
Ad Feedback I think we are doing what we, as the media collectively, are supposed to do. We are telling people about this. The polls are now giving us the feedback saying, "We hear you. We don't need to hear much more about this. We've made our decision." And, you know, it's up to the Trump campaign to try and exploit that politically-
After the Daily Beast's Jackie Kucinich injected, " I don't think they'll be able to do that," Louis added:
Well, I think they've got it. I mean, they've got it. They've got the complaints. They've got a populous voting public that sees that she's got some ethical issues. People get it. That doesn't necessarily translate into votes for Trump here again because they've got to explain what they would do different-
Cuomo then jumped in:
Instead of doing that, he's doubling up. He's saying, "I'm not going to get into the 'here's why I'm better part.' I'm getting into the 'you're worse.'" He's coming after the media and saying the reason that Hillary Clinton isn't going down is because of the media. "The reason that I'm in trouble, the polls are slipping is because of the media. It's not me, it's how they cover me."
The CNN host then added:
This is an odd turn for a guy who's been made in large part by the amount of attention he got from the media, most of it not negative in the early days. We've juiced him to get into this race because we thought it would be exciting, he was given a pass on a lot of the stuff that came out of his mouth early on, and now he's a victim of the press.
Status Cuomo is delusional, as are the rest of the Cuomo Crime Family.
quote “ he was given a pass on a lot of the stuff that came out of his mouth early on”
funny.. I remember him getting HAMMERED from the first second of the first debates!
Trump has been considering this for years.
When it looked like the RNC was going to use their usual playbook to give us Yeb! as the next Designated Loser, he jumped in.
The Ministry of Propaganda had nothing to do with it.
No danger you’ll “juice” Hillary, you slimy lounge lizard.
That would take resurrecting the dead, and Cuomo’s not that good.
That the media think this way, that they can ‘make’ people, is a sad and dangerous commentary about just how low the proverbial ‘fourth estate’ has fallen. While trying their hardest to increase their influence and stature, they have ironically destroyed the stature of their profession. Such is the way and the consequence of narcissistic ambition unbridled by principle.
Oh, Fer Pete’s Sake!
LOL! :)
Cuomo is an idiot - the corrupt MSM didn’t create Donald...and that’s why they can never destroy him.
Is this the one who couldn’t satisfy his wife?
Wonder how much a pay-per-view Bumfight of some bum beating the teeth out of Chris Cuomos lie-hole would haul in?
If Chris Cuomo doesn't think the law should apply to everyone, then he himself is a lawless scumbag.
The more serious true stories media like TMZ, National Enquirer, reality tv shows that are profitable & 50% truthful love the Trump. That is more significant in influence.
They got Trump the attention to succeed? That’s what they did for Saddam so they could keep their Baghdad bureay open.
I remember Donald Trump said to him, You didn’t even congratulate me for winning the nomination.”
This is exactly what I said was going on when all the Trumpsters were crowing about how Trump was playing the media so perfectly. Now Trump is the nominee, and — so far — he’s being destroyed and humiliated at every turn.
I thought the same thing. Dems know they have a weak candidate in Hillary so they pumped up Trump with free time on the TV. He did well with it. Part B is to try to bring him down with the usual sleaze and silly quotes taken out of context. Think that may have been the plan, but I don’t think it’s working.
If white people vote and don’t stay home, he will win. Read a statistic today. No democrat since FDR ever got more than 50% 0f the white vote. The last 5 have gotten less than 40%. If enough white people vote Trump wins because Hillary won’t get 30% and they’ll all be women.
