I have sleep apnea but I’m skinny as a rail.

I wouldn’t doubt this. I know when I fall into a deep sleep my body becomes a heat pump which is great during the winter and not so great during the summer. I’m sure it burns more cals when it’s putting off the heat. Then there’s the importance of just getting the proper rest which I know is different for everyone.

Some lucky people can get by with as little 5 hours of sleep a night. Most need 7 or more.

. . . as significantly as adding a Big Mac to our regular daily diet.

FWIW, I always have a big crap within 30 minutes of consuming a Big Mac. How much weight can it really add if it goes through your digestive system so quickly?

More eats = more calories.

less eats = less calories.

The less the calories, the more the body burns the fat.

End of lesson on metabolism ( :-) )

I have sleep apnea and slap this little beauty on every night. It used to really suck, but us human types are very adaptable....now, it's no big deal.

The most significant benefit since I started using my cpap three years ago is not having to get up and pee two or three times a night. I lay down, sleep like a log and next thing I know it's time to get up.

C-pap machines are available online, amazon and ebay.
Just purchasing the thing directly, instead of hassling with doctors and insurance, is waaaay less expensive.
The machine and the tubing must be wiped clean with a bleach solution daily, to kill bacteria.
