Trump Implosion? New Polls Signal Deep Trouble
Newsmax ^ | Thursday, 04 Aug 2016

A raft of new national and battleground polls released Thursday found Donald Trump slipping well behind Hillary Clinton one week after the end of the Democratic convention, and as the Republican nominee reels from a public feud with the parents of a slain Muslim American soldier.

"There has clearly been a significant movement toward Clinton in the last week," said Ken Goldstein, a professor of politics at the University of San Francisco and polling analyst for Bloomberg Politics. "Some of it is a Clinton post-convention bounce, but more of it seems to be a Trump deflation or implosion."

...

A NBC/Wall Street Journal national survey found Trump trailing Clinton by 9 points (up from five points last month).

Ayres cautioned that polls at this juncture early may yet be fluid.

"The general rule is that you wait a couple of weeks after both conventions finish. Before you start assuming that polls are particularly predictive," he said. "Around the middle of August we'll start to get a sense of where the race stands after the dust settles from the Democratic convention and the Trump convention."

Goldstein said polling averages are more instructive than any one poll, but that a steady Clinton lead of 7 or 8 points could harm Republicans down the ballot.

"Fifteen points is more than Ronald Reagan won in his landslide victories," he said. "If you're in a world where it's over 10, then this is a landslide of historic proportions."

its been awhile but there was an in depth study of pols here on FR and how they almost ALWAYS give Dems an advantage right up to the final week at which point the Republican candidate closes the gap if behind or surges if he is ahead....they want there last poll to be close to accurate

it was quite an eyeopening study...wish i could find it again

Trump surrogates needs to start talking about the polls and the constructed narrative. Trump can't do it, but it needs to be put on the table and they need to be called out.

Even have some surrogates breakdown the crappy polling methodology (of the worst of them) and let it stain/taint all polling.

I don’t believe polls. We all know polls are rigged. It is an attempt to sway voters. Trump is not losing support, I don’t think. Hillary is, and will continue, IMO.

I have never before seen top names of the Republican Party announcing that they will be voting for a Democrat. This is an outrage. It shows you the desperation of the establishment.

We all need to remember this fact. A Trump victory in November means the end of the MSM, GOPe, RAT corruption, and expanding government control. This election is for all of the marbles and our enemies will do anything they possibly can to hang onto their influence and power. I believe they will do anything, including murder, to stop us from re-claiming our country.

The GOPe thinks they’ll save their necks by supporting Hillary, they’d better think again.

No, but last week he was under 50% according to the polls. We will all find out Tuesday.

All those are perfectly fine. But the Republican Party and Trump do not control the media. Trump cannot control the media propaganda. So stop fretting over it. What did you expect from the other side? Polls showing Trump with huge leads? Even that would be used to lull the sheep. Romney in the final Gallup election survey had Romney up 1% on Obama. The fact of the matter is that he had 96% backing among Republicans in that survey and Obama 93% among Democrats. One of the latest Polls had Trump down double digits to 70% amongst Republicans. Therefore, if even remotely true, the question is will these Republicans unite behind Trump. It’s a simple proposition. And all the BS media hype and negativity is just loud noise which should be called out.

This is one of the favorite tactics of the Democrats which is to make their opponent look like the bad guy. The Khan’s dead son was the Khans’ perfect human shield.

Your suggestion assumes that it is a good issue to attack a woman for standing by her husband, when he behaves badly. In my opinion that is a dangerous gambit, and that a misunderstanding of the psychological dynamics in 2000, is one reason that the 2000 election was a cliff-hanger.

A better iteration--which fits perfectly into the major theme of the campaign--would be to demand why Mrs. Clinton will not agree to put America & the Americans first; defy her to point out anything in the Constitution, which is not about doing just that. Then iterate over & over again, aspects of the betrayal of American war veterans; her pledge to flood the country with immigrants who clearly do not share our values--our pride in what made America great-- even while they take the jobs that would otherwise go to out-of-work Americans; and kindred issues.

There’s so little real quality journalism. It’s 99.9999999% propaganda. Find the source or sources you trust and stick with them. The only value in the other stuff is to ascertain what the other side is doing or planning to do. Their articles are like puzzles to pick apart to decypher their game plan.

Mr. Trump needs to realize that the media now has had over a year to study his tactics and adjust. He likewise needs to adjust his and start throwing them a few new curveballs.

I don't know if he needs to throw curve balls, fastballs over the plate should be enough. Terrorism, and every act of terrorism followed by demands that America disarm. The use of every tragedy to forward their agenda. The daily victims of illegal immigration. The creating of more government programs and more taxes, rather than getting out of the way of people to create jobs.

These are fastballs that the public will appreciate.

I know Trump likes to be the entertainer rather than repeating positions, the media will drool for those moments and use it to fuel the next outrage. Focus on the fastballs, pimp Obama's line 'don't boo, VOTE', stay on the target.

And of course, it is all about SCOTUS; Trump's pushed his list of potential nominees, where's Hillary's? Do people want a hand out, or a hand up? Are we to be governed by executive fiat, or through our actual system of government? Laws made by judges and bureaucrats. Fastball, fastball, fastball.

No, the GOPe wanted a professional politician. They would have settled for Cruz, which is saying a lot. Trump can get them if they think he will win. Even the GOPe wants to win again. Trump has come a very long way for a political amateur. It is not significant unless he defeats Clinton.

I don’t see it that way.

They knew they couldn’t stop him from the nomination, so they just decided to go ahead and abandon him in the General. They can live with Hillary.

Clinton Media Polling – CNN: “Now She’s So Far Ahead There’s No Need for an Election”…

Exhausted from campaign events where she is constantly hounded by by dozens of supporters, Hillary might just need to take a vacation.

There’s really nothing to do until football season starts and there’s a debate on the calendar, and do we really need debates at this point? I mean a two person debate will be so boring, what with Hillary being so magnanimously intelligent, and the vulgarian Trump being so, well, less than that…

Meanwhile, for some odd reason, tens of thousands of people keep showing up to these Donald Trump rallies and Town Halls. I mean like, really, what are these people thinking?

It is August 5. Of course Trump isn’t on top yet

To say it’s a trend when trump hasn’t even figured out what to do yet is what they’re going to do

To believe them is pure silliness
