Microsoft is facing more legal trouble over its handling of Windows 10 upgrades.
Microsoft is facing two more lawsuits over the companys questionable Windows 10 upgrade tactics. Both suits are seeking class-action status.
The first suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Florida. It alleges that Microsofts Windows 10 upgrade prompts violated laws governing unsolicited electronic advertisements, as reported by The Seattle Times. The suit also says Microsofts tactics are against the Federal Trade Commissions rules on deceptive and unfair practices.
The second suit was filed in June in Haifa, Israel alleging that Microsoft installed Windows 10 on users computers without consent. Microsoft already paid out a $10,000 award in a previous U.S. suit over similar circumstances.
Microsoft told the Seattle Times it believes the suits wont succeed. The Times also reports that Microsoft said Windows 10 upgrades (the Times report called them updates) are a choice, not a requirement.
The story behind the story: Thats quite a disingenuous statement considering that Microsoft violated the known behavior of the Windows interface to essentially trick people into upgrading.

Thanks to amigatec for the ping!
Don’t think ‘questionable’ is really the word. It’s there really any question that this behavior is completely beyond the pale?
Any of you Tech guys out here, if MS starts billing for Shattered Windows 10, can I just get rid of it and download an older version, or something else?
Yes, I know that little.
YAY, my MS WIN10 upgrade icon is finally GONE!
After numerous attempts to get me to upgrade to Windows 10, which I always refused, the upgrade icon finally disappeared from my task bar this morning.
There is actually an option within windows 10 to revert back to windows 7 or 8.

I tried the Windows 10 download and after 6 days of trying to locate all of my previous files (which MS said would be there) and searching the net for corrections to the associated problems brought about by MS10, I went back to Windows 7. Upon going back to Windows 7 many of the programs that were there before were gone; smrfgdf for example. It was a total CF and a lot of time was wasted trying to get back to where I was prior to the upgrade. I am glad that July 29 has come and gone so I do not have to put up with the Windows 10 Upgrade pop-ups.
As long as you still have the original sticker with the product key or license, you can go back to Windows 7 or Windows8. You would just need to download the operating system ISO from Microsoft, (you just sign in to them and enter your legit product key, then they give you the download ISO for your operating system).
After downloading the ISO from MS, you just burn it to a disk. Then use that disk to install your OS. It will ask for your product key at some point so that it makes it a legit copy of your OS.

I’m having my Techno Wizard son remove Win10 from my laptop and reinstall Win7.
After Win 10 took over my machine all of the software I’ve been using for years quit working and I got a notice “license has expired, enter an activation code”. These were programs I bought (and have the discs for) way before the current system of “you are only buying a license for use” came into existance. I think I see Lennix in my future!
I really hope Microsoft winds up paying big for this. I personally had to rollback 2 machines which got auto upgraded.
I think there is an option on your system to revert back to 8????
Never login as an admin and you don’t have to worry about it.
If folks are not smart enough to welcome a free upgrade to Windows 10 then there's just no hope for them.
I hope so too. I've seen too many people ticked off with MS upgrading their systems to W10 without letting them decide or just the nagware of it all.
Plus, Microsoft is making Windows 7 updates very slow or a pain because I believe they are trying to frustrate people so they upgrade to Windows 10.

My new laptop came with Win 10 installed. It’s the spawn of Satan. Next week I’ll buy Win 7, have that installed, and 10 removed.
Microsoft only gives you 30 days to revert back to Windows 7 or Windows 8. After that, the option disappears then you have to go back and reinstall the original operating system from scratch.

THANK YOU ALL!!
Those sneaks.
Interesting strategy they have. Try to piss off your customers and make them hate your product they currently own, in the hopes you will coerce them to use your next product. I wonder if it will work.
Thanks to one of the freepers alerting us, I checked with my computer manufacturer as to my model number and whether it is compatible with Windows 10. It is not. I am glad I read freerepublic because otherwise, I would have only a brick today.
