Holy crap!! I can see that he injected Botox in his forehead. Did he use it on his vocal cords too? OMGoodness! I have heard fingernails on a chalkboard that sound better than this guy.

As a vocal coach and an accompanist I agree with every word of your post.

He’s doing a really bad Frank Sinatra imitation.

I may be wrong but if you see the youtube of him singing at the DNC. Look at his mouth. One side look lopsided and the other one slightly higher as if he had a mild stroke. I could be wrong.

Having a live accompanist is SUPPOSED to be much more fun than Karaoke, because the VOCALIST (NOT the pianist) controls the phrasing of the song. A good accompanist knows how to follow and showcase the vocalist.
NOT like that buffoon at the DNC.

His singing was terrible he couldn’t qualify to sing in a cheap barber shop quartet it was so awful I’ve heard better at the local drunk night karaoke bar

Yeah, but there comes a time when we seniors have to acknowledge that some abilities have waned.

At first i thought it was Mel Brooks trying to impersonate him. I thought it was a joke.
Actually, Mel wasn't bad performing "High Anxiety" in the movie of the same name. Here's what I don't get. Why did he pick THAT song to perform. EVERYONE knows it, and it requires range. I suspect you hear Elton John trying "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" or "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word"and if he tries "Bennie and the Jets", he has to completely rework it.

Paul Simon is a good songwriter, but as far as performing not so much. He was nothing without Art Garfunkel IMO.I always enjoyed Simon's live performance of "Bridge" on Live Rhymon'. It goes on a bit long for my taste, but the gospel style is a nice touch and there's certainly nothing wrong with his voice.

Obviously there's a difference between what he could sing in his early 30s and what he can sing now in his 70s. Time to call it a day, Paul.
To: Dr. Sivana
I liked Mel Brooks singing “the inquisition” and high anxiety; my reference to Mel was that Paul S facially resembled him, that’s how old he looked.
