Of course we all loved it, but how do you think it'll effect voters?
Independents, anti-Trump Republicans, evangelicals, other needed voting blocks?
What gets me is the talking heads in the media are saying how “dark” and “dystopia” his speech was, indicating they think everything is lovely. Isn’t this the same crowd that just was ranting and raving how out of control the police were and how we’re going down the toilet?
Very unconventional.
No way to tell how it will effect the voters he was aiming at.
On the positive side he clearly reached out to non-Republican voters. That’s important as many of them were watching him for the first time.
On the negative. Too long and too loud. Why yell. He’s much better when he’s talking.
Powerful. Focused (particularly for Trump :) ). Inclusive. Decisive. Patriotic and loyal to America.
A great speech.
I loved it. It was like floating to heaven. Then I saw on CNN (still glancing at it) that so many people were insulted by it (because their skin color or culture wasn’t mentioned, their asses were not kissed) and others are just knee jerk critical.
I don’t think we can ever bridge this gap.
“It was all were gonna do this, and were gonna do that. But no this is how were gonna do it.”
A convention speech is not the appropriate forum for getting too deep into how he plans to implement his policies. He’s talked about the how loudly and often throughout the campaign, and his life is a veritable history of getting things done at the highest level.
Clearly you didn’t watch or listen.
Great talking point you got but you missed the big one that’ going from coast to coast - and they depend on you to spread your dissent?
Anyway, the talking point, decided by some 20 something ditz is: it was dark
Hilarious!
I thought it was the best speech I’ve heard since Rudy’s the other day. Which makes it the best speech i ever heard.
It was GREAT.
No convention has ever had so many INCREDIBLE speeches.
Trump, Rudy, Christie...no mincing of words.
Trump has laid down some clear markers that will be hard for Clinton to overcome. Substantive, convincing.
Trump has many policy papers out on various issues that are detailed. Tonight was a visionary speech. It was fine. Tomorrow the MSM will tell us what parts were plagiarized a d now num drum and uninspiring it was.
Is that you, Mark Levin?
Like I posted on another thread, Mr Trump’s speech had a Churchillian statesman like quality, but the accent was pure American!
I love it.
Any ‘thinking’ and thinking is the key to this, not the old and worn out ‘feeling’ - the thinking people who heard this, could not miss his anxious desire to get in the WH and get to work, FOR US!
And he did ask “but how do you think it’ll effect voters?”
That’s what I responded to :)
The wall thing. Cutting taxes. Adding trillions to the economy. Making our allies pay us tribute. That’s just off the top of my head.
I’m pretty sure that he did say it. I’d have to re-listen to know for certain.
It was too long for most Americans but it was a good speech. Parts were on things the average American could not or would not understand and he probably lost some during those parts. There is nothing the dems can counter with.
Trump will crush Hillary’s forces because he holds all the ammo and Hillary has nowhere to hide.
Outstanding
Yeah, the shouting was one of the first things I noticed. He had a captive audience. He could have whispered and people would have been leaning in on his every word. Then again, I suppose he knows what he’s doing to get this far, eh?
