Yeah, the shouting was one of the first things I noticed. He had a captive audience. He could have whispered and people would have been leaning in on his every word. Then again, I suppose he knows what he’s doing to get this far, eh?
I was kind of shocked this morning, as I read the transcript of his speech, to hear in my mind his exaggeratedly loud and emphatic voice. I had found his delivery annoying while watching it. Another person could have read the speech in the quiet patter of the typical television-savvy talking head or politician, and it would have sounded more "soothing" or "appropriate"but I may not have remembered their words or their cadence the way I was genuinely surprised to remember his.
I guess his technique is working.
