Ted Cruz's strategy - Make sure Hillary wins and the people will be ready for Cruz

Ted Cruz must have a strategy of dividing the Republican Party (with full support of the Republican Oligarchs behind the scenes) to make sure Hillary wins because of the division. Somehow they are determining that Trump is not going to run again in 2020 and Cruz will then seek the nomination.

With the absolute mess that Hillary will make, Cruz will be seen as the only solution by the conservative side. Good strategy, but not good for the country.

Not much of a strategy. My hunch is that he expects Trump to lose whatever he does. The smart thing to do would be to stay out of Trump's way and help downballot candidates. That's more or less what Nixon did when Goldwater ran. As it is, TC has lost whatever chance he had for 2020.

I think Ted Cruz just wasn't thinking. For a supposedly smart guy, Ted hasn't shown signs of seriously thinking things through. I guess if you offer Ted Cruz a podium he'll take it and make a long speech even if it hurts the candidate, the party, and even his own career.

OK Cruzers, what say you to this? Ted seems far more concerned about his 2020 election—Hillary winning would certainly help him in his opinion.

Oh, and waiting for responses from those of you who assured me yesterday and the day before that Cruz would heartily endorse Trump during his speech at the Convention....

Also, Ronald Reagan was a man of honor and would have honored his pledge.

Clearly he only cares about getting his jollies in all aspects of his life. It is not worth the time to even discuss him. Bad guy, using religion to rope people in.

If Hillary wins I will blame Cruz (in part). I will not be looking to this non-NBC Constitutional hypocrite to rescue us.

I blame rigged voting machines, and masses of Demwits voting multiple times.

Reagan actually was not very ‘religious’ at all. He referenced his Christian beliefs at rare intervals, and -practiced- Christian virtues, but he did not Pharisaicaly blat trumpets about his personal holiness and how God was his ride.
