It wasn't a complete paragraph at all. Just because the words are similar does NOT constitute Plagiarism. Moreover, YOU are falling into the trap set by the media.

Guess what? Every conversation about this NON-ISSUE takes away from ALL the very powerful speeches last night!!! You are contributing. Keep up the good work.

Similar themes. Shocking I tell you, shocking and so much more important to cover than all the victims blaming Hillary on stage.

How convenient that they cover repeated themes instead of covering victims and repeated Hillary complaints.

OK, you’ve convinced me. Let’s just leave the speech writing staff the way it is. What could go wrong?

Simular, yes, but they both have the cliché crap that all politicians use.

Saying Michelle is the author of this nonsense would be like crediting me for saying “happy birthday Cronal”

In this case Howard Kurtz at Fox is right:
... The colossal screwup over the passages that were strikingly similar to Michelle Obama’s Democratic convention speech is getting worse because the campaign is denying the obvious.... In insisting that the story is bogus, campaign officials are actually giving it legs by prompting anchors and reporters to prove the case and to question why the Trump operation persists in its denials.
Manafort and crew are making matters worse.

Like Rush said today.

The Left always finds trivial crap to pick at in order to distract the sheeple from talking about the great night had by all Conservatives last night.

Just another of the media ways to create a diversion from the truth about Hitlery.

This is such a joke! Plagiarism is when you are taking creative credit for something you publish.

Every day hundreds of toasts, roasts, funeral remarks, obituaries, wedding vows, graduation addresses, valedictory addresses, sermons, lectures, twelve step meeting ‘shares’, and yes, campaign speeches, First Lady speeches and state of the Union addresses, are offered without expectation of credit, compensation or intellectual property rights.

None of it is the slightest bit original, nor does it need to be. I’ve heard the same phrases repeated thousands of times.

This is not plagiarism. Plagiarism is when you claim to be the author of something and are being scored (academia), compensated (professional) or legally credited (intellectual property) for your originality.

A First Lady speech can’t be plagiarized, period.

Would you please refrain from injecting common sense into an hysterical uproar about nothing.

Cliches or not, if a speechwriter helped himself to the actual wording of another person's speech (especially the First Lady of the opposing party), that person needs to be .... fired. They gave away the first evening.

Bah. The opposition party and the media (redundant, I know) would trash the evening regardless. Even if that speech hadn't happened we'd hear "too mean", "too white", "no plans", "empty rhetoric", "no enthusiasm", etc. It's a given.

The only time I recall the media simply being at a loss for anything to criticize on a given night of a GOP convention was when Sarah Palin gave her magnificent speech in 2008 and they were rendered speechless and terrified. But they regrouped quickly enough and set out to destroy her, which for all intents and purposes they did.
