hear it pronounced
adjective
Demotic pertains to anything relating to the common people. In that sense, it can be use as synonymous with "popular."
Demotic has a narrow, specialized sense as a designation of a simplified form of ancient Egyptian writing in which the priests kept their records.
The adjective comes from the Greek demotikus (popular, plebian), based on 111111111111,i1.demotes (a plebian) and demos (the common people, the populas.
King Demos is a facetious term for the electorate, the common people who select a ruler and in that way are "sovereign," as though political machines and chicanery didn't exist.
Demo-, the Greek prefix from demos, is found in words like democracy and demography.
Demotics, treated as a singular noun, is sometimes used as a synonym of sociology, the study of people, their care and culture.

Note, especially,
King Demos in the context of our election of a president. The plebian plight is ours to throw away on a foolish conceit.
Accolades in the AM.

While we hoped for equal protection under the law, it’s now confirmed that demotic laws do not apply to our elite rulers.

We have been stunned by this obvious demonic ruling....I never expected the queen to be indicted, but for Comey to basically tell the world that she was horribly negligent, and that she did indeed break the law, but they still weren’t going to indict tells me he was told by higher ups that he wasn’t going to indict. He obviously didn’t have the strength of character to do the right thing - but he can’t possibly believe he will keep his job after saying what he said about her. What could they possibly have threatened to get him to ignore the law?

Sorry - in my haste I typed demonic instead of demotic....although both fit...

Demonic & Despotic
The loud, demotic cry of real Americans in this digital age is that these two demented dirtbags in the demonic-rat party should be summarily deleted (from all positions of authority), and all their fellow governmental lackeys demoted to the status of "unemployed".
(I had to clarify that "deleted" phrasing.)

There is some reason to believe his findings of Hillary's blatant criminal activity was not followed by a recommendation of indictment because he understands she will not be found guilty by the Obama administration. If he believes his findings will prevent her election he is delaying the recommendation of indictment for a Trump administration.
Lots of what ifs there but worth pondering.
