I believe that Bill and Hillary Clinton have single-handedly destroyed our country.

There were opportunities to get him back. But thanks to his position it was never going to happen. The Brits knew having him switch sides was excellent propaganda, even if they weren’t that into him as a person or leader (because he was kind of an ass, and nobody really trusts a traitor), and they also knew giving him back in any kind of exchange would be a PR nightmare. He was too high a profile to allowed to be exchanged for prisoners they wanted back knowing the fate that awaited him.
