Maybe Johnny Manziel is taking seriously all the good advice people keep giving him to clean up his act.
At least he says he plans to, after this one sweet kegger he’s throwing in Mexico.
Manziel told TMZ that he’s “going completely sober starting July 1st.”

The first step is admitting you have a problem...which I didn't hear him say...
He could be used as an example to kids. This is why you stay away from drugs and drinking. He had it all, a mulit-million dollar contract as an NFL quarterback, but he blew it.
Remember what happened to Britany Spears a few years back, when she had a number of public meltdowns? She was declared
“incompetent” by the courts and appointed a conservator to manage her finances. Her father was that conservator for most the time.
Johnny may need something like this. His dad probably doesn’t want the conservator job, and may not be strong willed enough anyway to say “NO!” to his son’s dope purchases anyway. A neutral party would be needed. Someone who would be paid well whether or not Johnny stays ‘on the wagon’.

I’ve often thought about the Spears situation. Did her family do that because she is but a “cash cow” upon which they all depend for sustenance? Or was it done because of a father’s love for his daughter?

I smoked for 10 years - eventually getting to 2 packs a day.
Quitting during that time was easy...I did it hundreds of times.
To say you’re quitting drinking on July 1st is just another (temporary) quit.
As an aside, when I did finally quit, I stopped cold turkey, never told anyone...and it was a piece of cake.
