Interior Secretary Sally Jewell told attendees at an event on Hispanic-American entrepreneurship on Tuesday that if it were not for legal and illegal immigration into the United States “we would not eat.”
Jewell said that the country is still trying to address the rights of farm workers, including the role immigration plays.
“I’d say the challenges of immigration reform are a good example,” she said. “If we did not have immigration to this country we would not eat. Whether it’s documented or undocumented, we would not eat,” Jewell said at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. …

Steve King (R- Iowa), who opposes legalization for the undocumented workers who plant, pick, harvest and package a substantial portion of the nation’s crops and produce, offered this alternative: Americans could simply wean themselves from fruits and vegetables. Salad, broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, etc., cannot be all that important to human health, King suggested, huffing “I’m wondering how the Eskimos got along all those centuries without fruits and vegetables!”
King didn’t say that. But Im sure society could go a few months with strawberry shortage while machines get put in.

We did fine for several hundred years without the illegals. Maybe not quite as much food but it was enough to survive on. America is reportedly obese so the illegals can go home so we can lose weight, right? After all that’s in line with the liberal agenda; except they forget how many of their own are morbidly obese, video game playing, couch potatoes. Plus with all of them gone we won’t need near as much food two much less EBT handouts. That will allow us to pay down our debt and work less hours a week to fund it. It’s a Win, Win situation.

Mexican nationals harvest most of the apples, cherries, asparagus and some other crops in the Pacific Northwest.
Some are on work visas and others aren’t. But it’s billion dollars worth of product eaten here and exported.
And no one is on welfare to do the work? How did we EVER EAT before the 1980’s??!!
