Some small business owners already working to make their companies more welcoming to LGBT employees say the massacre at a gay dance club in Orlando gives them an impetus to make more changes.
Ive committed to myself and within our executive team to redouble our efforts to create a safer, kinder, more accepting workplace, says Frank Maylett, CEO of RizePoint, a company that makes software to help restaurant owners, hotel operators and retailers manage multiple locations.
RizePoint had already taken steps like providing health and other benefits to employees domestic partners and removing gender references in its handbook so that paternity and maternity leaves are now parental leave. And when an employee last year planned to have sex reassignment surgery, managers including the then-CEO met with the staffer and offered support.

We’ll bend over to accommodate.
The “Death to America” crowd figures this attack can be turned into a “win/win” for the Muslims and the Sodomites.
What does that have to do with Orlando? Oh, they mean that a fanatical muslim murdered 49 people and therefore everybody has to give gays special privileges?
How about deporting the people who support the murderer?
The homos lost a fight in here in Jacksonville over a “Human Rights Ordnance” and now they are lining up businesses to bully the city council changing it. I heard some nonsense about “500 business support LGBT Human Rights Ordnance on the radio yesterday.”
It’s so perverted.
When Christians get killed, you NEVER ever see San Fransisco businesses coming out and saying they need to be more inclusive to Christians?
It’s always a one way street with queers.
Where should we deport the Obama administration and just about all of Congress to?
How about deporting the people who support the murderer?
Homosexuals are aberrations that plead for acceptance.
Rather than consider this segment of our population to be degenerates who named their present disreputable state as ‘gay, ‘ a usurped term that really denotes a descent into hell, our government places these unfortunates on a pedestal.
It’s weird, isn’t it, considering what a small percentage of business the LGBTQ constitutes. What really motivates businesses to kowtow like this? Fear of lawsuits and other reprisals? Or just generic conflict avoidance?
What does a more inclusive workplace for LGBT mean? It is a friggin workplace where your job has nothing to do with your LBGT status. In the 40 plus years of various employments, someone’s marital status, LBGT status, religious status, never entered the workplace. I have worked with gays, atheist, democrats, republicans, etc. it is a friggin job where you get paid to perform work! If you want to get paid as an LBGT or any other activist go work for a non profit that deals with those issues!
Would appear that the Orlando event has done more to push the gay agenda than anything else ever attempted. Unintended consequence or part of the plan?
(Yup. They're [Harvey] Milkin' it)
I am so over this crap. Yes, we need to eliminate gender. Stop indicating male or female on birth certificates. Make everyone wear the same genderless clothing. I wish these whatevers would just go away.
If only it was “ordnance”.
They didn’t just “go away” in Sodom.
“Ive committed to myself and within our executive team to redouble our efforts to create a safer, kinder, more accepting workplace,
The killing in Orlando was facilitated by society’s greater acceptance of gays, not American prejudice. Those people were gathered together because they felt safe, not out of fear. Unfortunately, America’s tolerance facilitated a murderous attack by an Islamic terrorist. Again, the intolerant act was Islamic, not American.
Banning islam would help gay people.
Are these companies, since the Orlando shooting, being forced by the government to become more “inclusive?”
(W)ith contempt shall I fling my glove in the worlds face; then shall I stride through the wreckage a creator! With a host of politicians thinking the same way, there is only one way things can go.
Karl Marx
If only it was ordnance.
Busted. Ha ha. I guess I had my mind on something else.
