TORRINGTON A video of a woman who was verbally assaulted while breastfeeding her baby in a Target store in Torrington is going viral.
Jessie Maher, who lives in Canton, posted the video Monday morning after she says she was verbally assaulted by an old man in Target for breastfeeding my baby. Maher filmed the entire incident.

I’m just saying I have no problem with what she did. they are meant to feed babies. Women go around all the time showing half their tits in public no one says a word, yet the moment women use them for what they are meant for we get bent out of shape? There is something wrong in our society. She was feeding her baby in the foot court area, a place where people eat food.
Yes. What you did was wrong. Remember,
if she won’t let you goose, you don’t get a gander.
But .... this is the purpose of breasts.
I mean.. this is why they exist. When you talk about “god given rights” this among all seems to fit that description.
I doubt this moron has similar words for the sexually provocative women and teens wearing skimpy clothes, just nursing mothers using their boobs for their original intent.
LOL, Mrs Wbill had a run-in with a nurse who one of them, still refers to her as "The Boob Nazi". Approximately it was:
Nurse: "This is how you *will* (note the 'will') be nursing your newborn. First, you'll..."
Mrs WBill: "Thanks very much, but we've done this before. I've got a plan, it works well. But thanks for coming by."
Nurse: "I'm sorry, perhaps you misunderstood or weren't paying attention. This is how you'll want to handle..."
Mrs WBill: "No, we're all set. You can leave anytime you want."
Nurse: "I guess that I just didn't make myself clear...."
And that's where it got ugly. I just stayed quietly in the corner, while my lovely wife took this annoying busybody apart into little pieces until she finally ran out of the room. I know when I'm way out of my league. Don't mess with someone undergoing postpartum mood swings! :-)
FWIW, my lovely wife pumped. That let me catch the nighttime feedings and whatever else was needed. Which was great, I worked all day, little guy was going to bed about the time I was getting home, so middle of the night was "guy time". :-) She'd be due for another turn at the pump (and a snack for WBill Jr), about the time I was ready to get to bed at 2-3am. Easy Peasy.
My husband is a former wrestling coach-I nursed the first babies in every high school bathroom in the area. It just didn’t seem right to feed them in the bleachers surrounded by high school kids, even with a blanket. It wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Another mom told me she fed her babies in dressing rooms when shopping; private, clean and a place to sit.
Once you have four or more kids with you there is no place to hide discreetly. The vehicle became the feeding room. Pain in the neck but the preschoolers could be loud without drawing attention to us.
The mom in the article had my support until she was quoted as telling him to “walk the f*** away”. Somehow I doubt discretion is a priority for her.
“I mean.. this is why they exist. When you talk about god given rights this among all seems to fit that description.”
I agree. It’s this whole anti life society we live in. Babies are not welcome nor are nursing mothers. Breasts are only to be sex objects.
The Mom was within her rights, but should attempt more discretion while in a public place.
I'm going to hope you're being sarcastic. You can say that about many body parts and what it natural and why they exist. I hope you can see that....
Be respectful of others and keep it at home or cover. No need to come out and display, put on exhibit and be a spectacle.... to desperately seek and draw attention to yourself or embarrass others.
Very likely.
” I hope you can see that....”
No, and this conversation is only going to get more intense. But I won’t see your way of thinking, and you won’t see mine. We should prolly drop it and focus on why we’re here - defeating liberalism and making America a free republic.
Have a great day though !
Exactly right. You said it better than I could. Thank you.
Just another symptom of our war-on-children society. I saw a Facebook comment where a nursing baby was referred to as a “barnacle”. Sick.
“PR stunt designed to redeem Target in the eyes of the public”
that was my first thought also. An army of Target employees coming to the defense of a woman seemed too convenient considering the timing.
I’m with you, Morgana. As long as she was reasonably discreet, it’s no harm, no foul.
(Her vulgar remark to the man, though, makes me think she might not have been *entirely* discretion- minded.)
“Exactly right. You said it better than I could. Thank you.”
You are welcome..
I’ve been in this pro life fight a long time. I knew what this was when I saw the headline.
Exactly!!
You sound like a great guy. :o)
Was that her that made that remark or another customer? I could hear others shouting at him. Many were not happy with him.
As for being discreet, it’s not like she took her whole top off. Just lifted up half to feed.
True again.
