The time was eight years ago. The scene: An Alaska consignment shop. Reporters far and wide ran to the Land of the Midnight Sun to do what reporters do: Go straight to the source, get the facts. This was a huge story, one of national importance, after all
CBS News Headline: Just one week before the 2008 election:
Palins Consignment Shops Owner Speaks
The CBS News reporter sent was Julie Chen. Her pointed questions included:
So how long has Governor Palin shopped at your store?
What does she usually buy at your store?
And does she also shop for her entire family there?
What is the price range of your womens wear?
And how much does Governor Palin typically spend at your store?
And would you say your clothes look much different than what weve been seeing her wear on the campaign trail?

Whoever told Chelsea she could wear that outfit should be banished from fashion-land.

So true! She could take a few lessons from the poised and gorgeous Ivanka who knows how to wear “privilege” with taste and graciousness.
How ‘bout some photos of that beauty for us, Liz?

She should have gone to WalMart to the Fat and Ugly Department where she belongs, ya think? Then again, a Thrift Store in DC would have provided her a better selection, IMO.

One of the “fact checkers”/”excuse makers” I read about this needs to delete their account.
* It was only $7k-$10k not $12k
* The speech was about many things and inequality only mentioned a few times
* Many celebrities are loaned expensive clothes
* some more stupid “facts” for the given conclusion
* conclusion: LIE, LIE, LIE she did nothing wrong. Republicans are sexist pigs as well as racist xenophobes trying to make an issue out of nothing.

Ivanka is brains and beauty......and, not incidentally, a devoted mother.
I love this pic of her---in designer fashion and hat--w/ baby Joseph....her second of three.

did the male Clinton supporters also receive their woman cards along with fundraiser begging letters?
Yes. You may not be able use "man" to describe DU posters with body parties that differ from Hillary but most of them are "male". And some bragged about receiving their card.
To: Liz
Wow! Now why doesn’t Hillary and Chelsea show their legs like that?

Not sure---but I think this is the outfit Chelsea wore when she
worried about dwindling elephant herds----the Clinton Foundation's
987'th fund-raising mechanism.

Im not sure if this could be considered an apt analogue. As I recall the lefties were complaining about who was paying for Palins wardrobe. Palin's clothes were paid for by the campaign, I believe. It is a legitimate campaign expense -- you are selling the candidate, they have to look appealing. Still, Palin would look wonderful in jeans and a t shirt, but even a 12K Armani jacket makes Hillary look like a sack of potatoes.

That the media does this is not news. It has been so forever.
That some are surprised is.

When I saw der Hildebeast hopping around the stage, June 7th, 2016, looking like this . . .
. . . I thought of this:
It's the woman in the outfit that makes all the difference.
