Here's an interesting exchange between NBC News and former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz that happened just now:
NBC: Donald Trump's remarks about Judge Curiel, are his concerns legitimate?
Cruz: Of course it's inappropriate to be attacking a federal judge's race or ethnicity. You're going to have ask Donald to explain the reason he says the things he does. I'm not going to try to do so.
NBC: Ben Sasse said that what Donald Trump said about the judge is pure definition of racism. Is Donald Trump a racist?
Cruz: As I said, it is obviously inappropriate to attack a judge's race or ethnicity. Beyond that, you're going to have to ask Donald.
NBC: (As Cruz walks away): Last question Senator, can you fathom though still at this point supporting Donald Trump in November?
(No response -- goes into office)

I'm sorry, but you are apparently tone-deaf, along with everyone else that is defending this statement. You aren't seeing how the media has run with it as evidence of racism. Without context, you can't spin it any other way.
The above statement says absolutely nothing, other than "Mexican heritage". Being "a member of a Latino lawyers' association" is a completely meaningless claim that offers no additional information (and just repeats: "Mexican heritage"), unless the conflicting positions and affiliations of that organization are clearly explained.
You can't expect our mainstream media to investigate and provide the context, if it happens to be favorable to Trump's position. They know they can repeat their interpretation from their bully pulpit, and very few people are inclined to investigate on their own. And even factual challenges will be lost in the noise.
Yes, the judge has been hostile to Trump. But, the media is hostile to Trump, as well. They aren't going to print a fair characterization of the dispute, when Trump throws them a softball like this.
Trump has to start playing hardball with the press, and by that I don't mean just challenging them when they lie. I mean "throwing fastballs" hard and fast down the middle, so there's no room for twisting it to their liking.
Trump was right to attack a LaRaza judge.
I assume this was part of the plan to take Trump out before the convention. Wait for him to utter another of his unfinished thoughts and then try to start a shark feeding frenzy.
I don’t recall Trump attacking “a judge’s race or ethnicity”. Trump called him a “hater” and implied he was an unjust judge. There are lots of unjust judges. Like the lying MSM, unjust judges need to be called out.
but it’s okey-dokey to praise a judge’s race or ethnicity
God dammit cruz.... he was attacking his ASSOCIATIONS. not his mother loving race....
The guy was a member of the LA FRICKIN RAZA BAR!!!!!!
I was a cruzer till the end, but..... this was damned foolish of teddy....
Ted needs to start shutting the hell up or his constiuants are gonna primary his ass.
“Politics is dirty business, but when the Country is under attack (from external or internal enemies), you don’t play those games”
That’s exactly right, but everybody from “Mr. Newt” to Madame Clintesterone continues not only to play them, but to insist that they must always be played.
Only Trump refuses, and our entire degenerate political class is up in arms about it.
He must be elected, and the depraved politicos brought to justice.
The Left attacks the race of judges when they are white.
Listen, even if Trump is a bigot (which I do not think he is), he still is entitled to a fair trial. Maybe you don't think so.
Obama has turned our government into a Farehight 451 scenario where the legitimate functions of government are turned upside down .
The DHS imports illegal aliens and terrorists,
Our Dept of Justice becomes Department of Injustice and a tool to shield criminals, especially governmental criminals, from the law.
Our BATF is running guns to Mexico
Our CIA is training, advising arming and equipping terrorists
The list goes on and on
I am in no way for Mrs. Clintion in any position of authority whatsoever. Period.
I've never been to the Indian subcontinent, the closest I got was my deployment to Iraq.
I'm definitely, 100% American.
PS -- I can't imagine any veteran really looking at the Corker Amendment (and Iran deal), who held his oath as important, would consider that shameful action anything but Treason.
And here we are BEFORE ANOTHER PRIMARY DAY, and Teddy-Boy is rearing his ugly head. What will he do tomorrow? “Restart” his campaign?
These folks intend to hand the White House to Hillary. Over and over and over again they prove it.
What? No word from Jeb Bush?
SOS here. I see nothing from Cruz on twitter about the violent attack on conservatives in San Jose.
Please do!
Just be prepared to get flack from our resident blog-hater: humblegunner.
That is not what Cruz said, of course. He’s a slimeball...nasty ppl...but what he said was it would be inappropriate to attack a judge for their ethnicity.
The slimeball didn’t quite cross the line, only because he’s not willing to go Cheetos just yet...though he’s fully happy for anyone else to for him. He’s fully debased.
And he, being the slimeball he I’d won’t anything to say about his statements being misrepresented - he’s butthurt.
Observe the coordinated and unabated attack on Trump by the Globalist GOPe Elitists.
Mr. Trump wants to unify the party (and Americans) but the reality is, this cabal are unable to be rehabilitated. The loyalties of these treasonous traitors lay with their globalist cohorts, hellbent on destroying all nations and borders.

The time for the derogatory term “Trumpsters” is long past.
Knock it off or go elsewhere.
It is quite clear what you are up to.
Alberto Gonzales . Attny general for GWB defended trump on this and yet Cruz won’t. .. . The hell.....
I took a look too the other day to see if Cruz had anything to say. I am waiting on some journalist asking for his opinion on it. Considering his silence, he will probably blame Trump like he did for Chicago.
Trump's beef with the judge isn't that he's Hispanic; it's that the judge is a member of "La Raza". And that's just plain wrong.
