Here's an interesting exchange between NBC News and former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz that happened just now:
NBC: Donald Trump's remarks about Judge Curiel, are his concerns legitimate?
Cruz: Of course it's inappropriate to be attacking a federal judge's race or ethnicity. You're going to have ask Donald to explain the reason he says the things he does. I'm not going to try to do so.
NBC: Ben Sasse said that what Donald Trump said about the judge is pure definition of racism. Is Donald Trump a racist?
Cruz: As I said, it is obviously inappropriate to attack a judge's race or ethnicity. Beyond that, you're going to have to ask Donald.
NBC: (As Cruz walks away): Last question Senator, can you fathom though still at this point supporting Donald Trump in November?
(No response -- goes into office)

Sooo, this article went under your radar, right Tedlim?
But it’s still okay for the left to call Clarence Thomas an Uncle Tom.
Bastards.
You’re funny : )
In today's news cycle, that's exactly correct.
Listen, even if Trump is a bigot (which I do not think he is), he still is entitled to a fair trial. Maybe you don't think so.
Oh, good grief. Do you have a reading comprehension problem?
I have already written that Trump has a good case against the judge on the facts. And, I think his lawyers should confront the judge with the facts and file a motion for him to recuse himself.
But, Trump is instead attacking the judge in public, using words -- without sufficient context -- that make him look like a bigot.
He should have let the lawyers handle this, and point at the motion for recusal with little or no comment. Then, they should be filing a motion to dismiss -- the original plaintiff has withdrawn, and the judge has appointed two law firms to pursue a class action. Those two law firms have major financial ties to Democrat organizations and candidates.
To be clear, I'm not suggesting that anyone should be prohibited from contributing to the candidate or organization of their choice, or belonging to the organization of their choice. But, especially in litigation, they should be prepared to recuse themselves at even the slightest hint of a conflict of interest.
If you contribute to a political candidate or organization, you should be essentially disqualifying yourself from any litigation that involves someone that is a candidate, or even publicly espouses a political viewpoint. You are also opening yourself to a conflict of interest if the litigation is supported by, or contrary to, a candidate or party's platform.
Of course, I have no illusion that the judiciary would ever be held to this standard, as many judges have just become another arm of the Democrat party.
Oh for Christ's sakes, he was nullifying the jury pool, and rightly so ... where have you been since People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson?
Exactly. And I still wonder why TRUMP did not say that.
I don’t see an any up side for leaving the actual qualifiers out, but even I don’t believe that in Kaulifornia, Amerika TRUMP could get ever hope for a fair trial.
(Which is exactly why the case is there?)
yep
Also, how does what you said make Cruz any less a ******* ******* ******?
Uh, in case you haven’t noticed, Trump has made a pretty successful career by being decidedly Un-PC. I am sure, though, that he will take your advice to heart.
Ben Sasse is an idiot. These morons who try to equate a comment with true racism (hanging black people on trees and having them killed and treated like animals)is ridiculous on its face. I wish white people would stop pretending they understand the black experience pre 1980s
I thought alberto Gonzalez was chinese...
And, I'll reiterate what you snipped out: If you don't understand why Trump is on the defensive now, you are completely tone-deaf.
It's really sad, because this is an unforced error on Trump's part. He could have avoided it, with only slight edits to his statement.
I hope he learned from it, or it's going to be a long hot summer.
So, the RINO’s, the MSM and the Libs are all having a cow. How can we go on?
Yup, anyone that took the time to look into Curiel's associations can see what Trump was trying to say.
Unfortunately, we are a very small minority.
You can try to explain to your friends, acquaintances, relatives, co-workers, etc. what Trump was referring to.
I hope you have better luck than I've had.
why not cops as well, like this La Raza police chief from San Jose.
No-one would accept a KKK judge or police chief, and we should not have to accept a La Raza or Nation of Islam judge either.
those groups have gotten a free pass until now, but no more. Trump is going to nail them too !
So when Trump is criticized because he attacks a woman (Hillary), or an African American (Obama), you are going to join in the chorus. If a man is wrong, like Curiel, he is wrong. Sex, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation be damned.
He even attacks his wife.
