Google's homepage does not acknowledge that today is Memorial Day. (vanity)

No surprise there. Just another reason to hate Google. Bing however has a very respectful picture of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Google notes so many other special days. Why not Memorial Day? I wonder what Google executives would say if they were asked about this, what pathetic excuse they would give.

Was there anyone that was Hispanic, black, or Asian that was “oppressed” today?

I see a flag with a yellow ribbon on Google. It would be nice if it was bigger but it is there.

They do have a tiny American flag and yellow ribbon, but nothing like Red Nose Day a few days ago, or MLK Day, or commemorating the Japanese loony leftist they were celebrating last week.

Because Google is evil. I extensively searched throughout my computer and deleted anything and everything related to “Google”. In any form or fashion.

It's by design. Google has no problem generating some outrage...gets people talking about “their brand”. They pick and choose what statements they want to make. Not unlike Facebook etc.

tiny American flag with small yellow ribbon.
Personally, it seems they knew they had to do something, so they made it as small as possible.

They do seem to go out of their way to not honor days that celebrate America.

Interesting that you are seeing a yellow ribbon (and perhaps a flag). I am running Chrome and I usually can usually see the junk Google puts up on special days.
But I see neither a ribbon nor a flag, maybe it's a browser thing.

I woulnt use a google email, calendar or website on a bet.

I’d like to invent my own search engine, but I’ve been temporarily disabled by your all-caps shouting. Perhaps after I recover I will work on your suggestion.

Yes, a very small flag and barely noticeable.
