My guess is any world that could hold life is already inhabited. At 1200 l.y. we’ll need a transwarp starship.

A distant planet known as Kepler-62f could be habitable, a team of astronomers reports.
Bye.

Kepler-62f? Aw, heck. I bought land on Kepler-62e from that Name a Star company. I guess I'm outta luck again.

The probability of getting there is about the same as Jennifer Aniston calling up and asking me out on a date.

It would be a shame to travel for 1200 years or so and then find out that the place was over-sold and not quite as habitable as the salesman said.

A planet 1,200 light-years away is a good prospect for a habitable worldNow to figure out if it has an iron core and a magnetic filed to protect it from high doses of stellar radiation. Then we can send contractors there to build a Super Walmart that accepts EBT cards.

1200 light years?
Too close.
But I have a list of about 5000 that need a reservation...

why do they have to put artist’s renderings? That steams me. It’s supposed to be science. It reminds of the archeologists who will find a knuckle bone and artist render some guy from eleventy-gabillion years ago and tell you what movies he liked
To: Red Badger
The article doesn’t mention anything about what type of start is involved here. Therefor, 50% of the story has been left out.
Not very scientific.
