Professional rock climber scales 460ft-tall building with the suction power of cordless vacuum cleaners By Vicky Kapur Published Tuesday, May 24, 2016 In a cool marketing stunt, LG hired professional rock climber Sierra Blair-Coyle to scale a 140-metre (about 460 feet) high-rise building using the suction power of its CordZero canister vacuum cleaners.
LG says it teamed up with Blair-Coyle to create a unique climbing device using the firms vacuum cleaner, and the project to scale the skyscraper nicely showed off some of the vacuum cleaners features (besides the great suction power) lightweight and long-lasting lithium-ion battery.

Sierra Blair-Coyle, nicknamed the Supermodel Spider-Woman for her rock climbing abilities, achieved the feat of scaling the 33-storey office tower in Songdo, west of Seoul in South Korea last month with nothing more than two of LGs CordZero vacuum cleaners strapped to her back.
LG says its vacuum cleaners created enough suction to support Blair-Coyles weight while she climbed toward the roof.
When I first heard about this project, I thought Is it even possible. Now Im totally inspired by this challenge, said Blair-Coyle before embarking on the vertical journey.
The Supermodel Spider-Woman completed the climb in less than 30 minutes, stopping only once for a fresh pair of vacuums, successfully pulling off the first stunt of its kind, says the South Korean firm.
The firm maintains that the CordZeros motor is on average 28 per cent smaller, 24 per cent lighter and 13 per cent more efficient than conventional vacuum motors.
We hoped to draw attention to the innovative technologies that power the appliances we so often take for granted and this project succeeded in doing just that, said Simon Jeon, senior vice president of washing machine business unit at the LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.
We wanted to demonstrate that todays vacuum cleaners include sophisticated technologies that can undertake extraordinary challenges and thanks to Sierra, I think the message came through loud and clear, he said.
Sierra Blair-Coyle, the 22-year-old daredevil from Scottsdale, Arizona, has been competing professionally since the age of 14. Voted one of the Top 99 Most Outstanding Women of 2015 by AskMen, she has also been a World Cup Competitor (2010-2015) and a two-time US National Champion as a junior competitor. She is currently attending Arizona State University on a full-ride academic scholarship and models in her spare time.
Great ad! She aint hard to look at either.
Great.
Did she make a sandwich when she got to the top?
No, but she did hang the laundry on the line...
...and the building has never been cleaner.
This post has everything.
A hot chick and amazing sucking action.
Bump for later, eh, research.
I think the word "incorrigible" doesn't begin to describe you.
Made me laugh, though.
Great video.
Thanks.
Hear that, Gwen? Incorrigible is just not enough. :)
Well, I am impressed. Good climbing, too.
Works for me : )
A true test would require a golf ball and a garden hose
This looks like a job for Suck Machine!
- Hey, how’d you know my high school nickname?
Good job.
A hot chick and amazing sucking action.
...and, she appears to be a natural blonde.
Laz, you are a national treasure.
Why do we always have to go to the foreign media to get the good stories?
And how can the Norks even possibly think that they can take over the South when the South can do things like this and feed everybody too?
