A woman who fled the scene after crashing into a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle climbed into her own backseat to pose as a passenger -- while the vehicle was still moving, authorities say. But 25-year-old Amber Lovell's seat-switching ruse wasn't clever enough to fool the deputy, who immediately identified her as the driver of the vehicle, a Sheriff's Office arrest report said.

Once taken into custody, Lovell is accused of slamming her head and feet against the window of the patrol car. Deputies had to restrain her, according to the report. Lovell is accused of spitting on one deputy and trying to bite the neck of another.
Lovell, of 1614 Farrington Drive, Marrero, was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna with hit-and-run driving, flight using a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, simple assault, battery of a police officer and resisting police by force or violence.
Bond was set at $12,500 for the charges related to the crash. But Lovell was being held without bond for probation violation.
Lovell was ordered to serve three years of probation after a judge suspended a three-year prison sentence when she pleaded guilty to second-degree battery with the intent to inflict serious bodily injury and resisting an officer on Jan. 28. She had been accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend during a fight at his Marrero home in August 2015.

Not to worry, though, about the myriad of charges levied against her; she has white privilege on her side.

The mere mention of Lorainna Bobbit causes me to reach down and check my man parts.
A former student of mine was crippled in a wreck where the driver tried to do the same thing. He got out, put his unconscious friend in the drivers seat, put himself in the back seat and waited for the first responders. Only problem was the car (a BMW) had a black box that recorded the wreck as well as the front door and back door opening and closing right after the wreck.
Sounds like the lyrics from a popular song of the late 1960s or early 1970s.

Another hit and run driver? That seems to be “trending” in New Orleans. At least this one didn’t wrap her car around a power pole - roof first.
It’s a natural reaction.
