Suddenly, no more mass shootings. Hmmmm.
5/20/2016 | By Laz A. Mataz

Has anyone else noticed that -- all of a sudden -- there are very few mass shootings lately?

In fact, almost none.

It's almost like Obama realized that these events aren't getting the clamor for gun control he wanted.

It's almost like Obama flipped a switch.

Things that make you go "Hmmmmm."

Not only is this site monitored, but I posit that when FReepers start going black in large numbers, suddenly, it will be the flag that we should be looking for.

>> it’s always best to structure your conspiracy theories so that you can claim anything at all that happens buttresses your case <<

Absolutely!

Moreover, when somebody denies being part of a specific conspiracy, you can be sure he’s actually in on the deal. Otherwise, why would he go to the trouble to make a denial?

Or if the culprit in question decides to remain silent, you can likewise be sure of his involvement. Otherwise, why wouldn’t he issue a denial?

Anyway, I’m old enough to remember when the John Birch Society persuaded us that Generals Eisenhower and Marshall were actually agents of the worldwide Communist conspiracy. The evidence? Simply that Eisenhower and Marshall didn’t exhibit the typical signs of Communist ideology — with that absence proving just how sneaky they really were. Oh, for those good ole days!

>> Many of them just do not get national news coverage <<

Definitely. The coverage usually depends on other news of the day.

For example, if there had been a big mass shooting yesterday, it would scarcely have been noticed by the MSM — maybe not noticed at all — since just about all of the media glitterati were breathless for 24+ hours with fact-free theories about the missing Egyptian airliner.

I haven’t been to Mass lately. That may account for part of the drop.

So if there aren’t mass shootings that is evidence for your claim, and if there suddenly is a mass shooting, that would also be evidence for your claim. Yeah, it’s always best to structure your conspiracy theories so that you can claim anything at all that happens buttresses your case.

You just proved my thesis.

Umm, that chart doesn’t display any data from 2016...

PRECISELY.

If you only would WAKE UP you would SEE

One could argue that mass shootings occur every day in Chicago, the most Firearm Free city in the nation.

I think it is a tossup between Washington, D.C. and New York City as the most firearm free city in the nation. Both have such onerous requirements to obtain a license, firearms are practically banned.

At least in theory, Chicago is like Detroit, where it is shall issue for a concealed weapons permit, and in Illinois it is shall issue for a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID)Card.

It is a safe bet, however, that the vast majority, if not practically all, shootings in Chicago are by prohibited persons, making the restrictions on law abiding citizens all the more moronic.

According to this link, there have been 146 mass shootings [more than one injured or killed] in 2016.

The term "mass shooting" is as made up as the term "assault weapon." The FBI's crime statistics only define a mass killing, not a mass shooting.

Mass Shooting Tracker has fabricated such a broad definition of a "mass shooting" just so they can come up with a sensational number as 146 mass shootings so far in 2016.

Even the liberal rag Mother Jones agrees that Mass Shooting Tracker goes way too far.

Let me be clear that I’m not using the word ‘loser’ in a superior or pejorative way. I literally mean “those who have lost ideological battles”.

Habits of thinking that are both simple AND correct can be difficult to hone. I don’t think conspiracies help.

Studies have shown that directly engaging conspiracy theorists usually only further entrenches their belief in conspiracy theories. If they are far gone enough to push theories like crisis actors then I’m only wasting my time and theirs in speaking to them.

This study was carefully constructed and targeted at you (in particular) to prevent you from seeing the obvious plain simple undeniable complete truth.

Sadly, I won't be able to help you.

It’s funny you mentioned this Laz. Just the other day I was thinking the same thing. No active shooter incidents in quite a while. Before now it was almost like clockwork every 2-4 months at least one would happen.

There are two options: Less mass shootings, or a shutdown on the reporting thereof.

To: SleepySimon; jsanders2001

But seriously: jsanders2001 was an actual handler, in the employ of an agency he cannot talk about, and he handled people to engage in acts of mass violence. He relates it was long ago and abroad.

The ability of a coordinated effort, often by an official agency, to coax people to these acts is not disputable.

It is not conspiracy to recite the truth.

Actually they’re still happening (well the new math “mass shootings” where they’ve dropped the number so low it could be a liquor store robbery). But the press has lost interest. Periodically the press beats on a particular type of story until it stops being interesting. It’s like when we were having all those shark attacks in 2001 only it turned out to actually be fewer shark attacks than normal only the press decided to cover them. Then there were all those train derailings, which turn out to happen about every 36 hours whether or not the press is paying attention. Same thing, they really got into the “active shooter” stuff for a while, but they’ve gotten bored.

Yes, this is a reasonable explanation. Further, it speaks to the continued power of the mainstream media. Unfortunately, it still has a powerful hold on us.

ALL of us, myself included.
