Hillary Clintons second inevitable triumphal march to the Democratic nomination is even more depressing than her first one. At least eight years ago there was an ascendant star, a rare political phenom, with a smooth manner and glitzy style. Once Obama got traction there really was no way to stop him. To paraphrase one of his own gnomic gems: he was the one everyone was waiting for.
This time it is so different. This time Hillary may finally get the nomination after a life in politics, cashing in on a generation or two of IOUs, deploying her army of gender warriors, leaning on her cohorts in the liberal press, dusting off Bill and sending him out to rouse or agitate the dwindling number of true believers. She has every possible means of campaign support, from the fear she inspires among her allies, to the Clinton hold on much of the party, to some of the most wicked campaign doctors in the business, all fused and fired by her own ardent, fever-ridden ambition and preternatural sense of pure entitlement. Remember: IT IS HER TURN.
But with all that, and with the lock on the numbers she strong-boxed from the outset those mummified super delegates she is barely crawling her way to the convention, being bested in primary after primary, by one of the most unlikely, ungainly, unhip and unscripted candidates in a presidential election ever: the awesome socialist septuagenarian Bernie Sanders.

“That sandpaper voice”, someone wrote.
If you look at the demographics of her supporters, this is past her time. She wins the old people, but the young are going to Sanders. In another four years she will only win the nursing homes.
You forgot the barf bag alert in the title.
As someone else (plural) had said multiple times -
Best. Election. Evah!
Never in my life have I ever seen any one person so universally disliked.
All these 70-80 year olds trying to sell themselves as Presidential material, I don’t know. I think they really want is a state funeral... :)
we can only dream of Hillary being tortured...
Ten minutes of waterboarding and we’d have the story on every shady deal since high school.
Your analysis is well done, sir.
More like wiping him off.
“...if Trump didn’t magically appear on the scene, we’d be looking at Jeb laying the White House at her feet right now.”
If Trump hadn’t appeared, Joe Biden would now be the Dem front runner. No way the DNC would have given a sure win to Hillary. without Trump, Hillary would already be surrounded by wolves.
Thank you.
I still firmly believe the D party bosses will (after cashing all of Coerruptoid Hillary’s bribe checks)... find another (more saleable) candidate
they do NOT want to lose, and especially when it would drag so much of the rest of the D ticket down the Hillary sewer
Unless the D’s can find a nice pretty rabbit to pull of of their hat, Donald had better get prepared to debate Bernie
(who is, despite what we may think of his politics, a quite acomplished campaigner with a significant following..very much unlike Hillary on both counts)
You may be right about the DNC’s expectations, but I don't believe for a minute that HRC is less than 100% committed to being elected President. She is dying to be President; she also was too greedy not to create the Clinton Foundation slush fund.
If the FBI/DOJ/Trump turn up the heat on the email server/foundation issues, it's possible the Dems will try to nudge HRC out, but she will never acquiesce. They are stuck with her.
I agree for Crooked Hillary it’s all or nothing, the White House or the big house. But if the FBI lays out a case for indicting the Crooked One, regardless of whether Loretta Lynch follows through, enough of the super-delegates my get cold feet and switch to Sanders. They would have to drag her away in a straight jacket, but it could happen.
Start contemplating a three way race. Trump vs. Biden vs. Sanders.
I might watch those debates.
So we disagree. Someday it might make a nice argument over a beer or three, depending on the amount of desired gesticulation.
maybe.
I thought Biden would run but he didn’t... Biden had his chance and blew it, both then and since, imho
I think it will be Trump vs. Sanders (versus Romney?)
