A top Texas official said the state will not yield to "blackmail" from President Barack Obama, after the administration on Friday released a directive notifying public school officials that transgender students must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room facilities corresponding with their gender identity.
"I believe it is the biggest issue facing families and schools in America since prayer was taken out of public schools," Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told reporters.
Obama's policy "will divide the country not along political lines but along family values and school districts," Patrick said.

Governor Greg Abbott is showing how serious he is about safety and security. He proved that by signing an 800-million dollar Border Protection Bill into law.
The bill will speed up the hiring process of 250 more state troopers, pay for cameras, and a spy plane to patrol the 12-hundred mile Texas-Mexico Boarder.

You just agreed with my point. It’s been an issue for decades, and we’ve gotten nothing done to seal our border but BS from Rick La Raza Perry in the 14 years he was governor.
(oh, I take that back. Perry’s signing into law, the bill authorizing in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, served as a magnet to bring even more illegal immigrants, including families, to Texas.

More extortion than blackmail.....”Nice school ya got there - too bad if something were to happen to it”.
All Trump has to do now is say at his next rally - “My DOJ will immediately repeal this ridiculous edict. My administration will never hold Americans hostage to force an ideology down their throats”. Election would be in the bag. Every Republican running should hammer this one home.
