On May 22, Earth will fly between Mars and the sun for the first time in two years. It now appears in a triangle with Saturn and Antares. Recent images here!

Just wait until 2018 and you will see a SpaceX Red Dragon space capsule sitting on the surface of Mars. Elon Musk of Tesla fame, is funding the mission privately.
The SpaceX Dragon space capsule will also take American astronauts to the International Space Station in 2017.
