Middle-aged people laid off and unable to find work are taking another way out. Theyre killing themselves.
Suicide rates are soaring, according to federal data released last week. Especially in economically depressed states and job-starved regions like upstate New York. People in need of work are twice as likely to take their own lives as employed people, and people fired in their forties and fifties find it hardest to get hired again. [ ]
The Obama economy is stalled. It grew at a measly 0.7% annualized rate in the first quarter of this year. Thats compared with the 3.5% rate the U.S. enjoyed for most of the 20th century. Thats the growth needed to sustain employment and optimism.

It’s not just the economy - it’s the contempt elites feel for those living in flyover.
“Especially in economically depressed states and job-starved regions like upstate New York.”
And thanks to Gov. Cueball permanently banning fracking, it will stay that way.
Marxism’s natural results are death and destruction.
CLOWARD & PIVEN, TOO! Bringing America to its knees in his view, right where it belongs.
It’s tough out there.
Officially, Obama tells us the economy is fine, unemployment is at 5%, yadda, yadda, yadda. Officially, Obama and his boys tell us that the economy is doing so well, but people’s experiences tell a different story.
Slightly off topic, but Hillary has said she has all these plans to help coal country, and even as a senator had all these plans for economic development in upstate New York.
Anybody believe that the policies of a president Hillary will help these economically depressed regions????
I am frustrated at the media for some things in this regard:
1. The media have not focused on the economic problems of this country during the Obama era.
2. The media have not told us that the Obamabots have changed the way key indicators such as the unemployment rate are calculated. So officially unemployment appears to be lower than it was in years past.
3. The media do not report certain facts at all, such as how the labor force participation rate has sunk to historic lows during the Obama era.
4. In spite of the quantatitive easing policies of the Fed, in which trillions of dollars are pumped into the economy, we see little inflation, which indicates a sluggish economy. The media don’t report this either.
I predict the media will change their reporting if Trump is elected. The media and Democrats will all of a sudden discover all these underlying economic problems, and then blame the Trump administration for not solving them pronto.
Old white guys sticking a gun in their mouth concerns Barry not in the least.
We need to do just ONE thing to improve the economy: Apply more liberty. The Trump Administration and the Republican Congress will have a historic opportunity to undo 100 years of liberal treachery and make America great again. We need to repeal not just Obamacare, but the New Deal and the “progressive” agenda doing back to liberal Teddy Roosevelt. If we don’t America will be left behind.
Eliminating the minimum wage would be a good first step. It would bring millions of jobs flooding back in. But to make it work, we have to re-think things a lot. We have to separate what people REALLY NEED and what they merely want and create a situation in which low-wage workers can survive.
China and other countries can undercut us because their economies are SET UP to accommodate low-wages. They dont have all the regulations and building codes that make live so EXPENSIVE in the coddled, entitled Western world.
People in some parts of the world live on $1 or $2 per day, yet they dont starve. How do they do it? First, they dont feel entitled, so they dont expect as much. Second, they can and do get housing and food they can afford. That stuff doesnt meet modern Western standards, but guess what... they survive just fine.
Whats wrong with an outhouse if you cant afford a house with a septic tank? It works. But the almighty government wont let you have it. Want a car without airbags or nonsense emissions controls? Sorry, not allowed. Oh, and all your food need expensive government controls, too. So you need $15 an hour or more to live here.
Thats why job creators prefer to open up in places with a more business-friendly environment. We need to change all that and make the US competitive again.
China undercuts the USA on corporate taxation and regulation, but it’s a means to an end. They would engage in progressive taxation with a vengeance if communism were the only game in town.
We need to gut the tax code, lower taxes for EVERYBODY and abolish the IRS.
That will immediately jump start the economy.
NO. No. No. That's not our goal - we don't want to be a third world hellhole. There's something in-between a punitive hellhole and a liberal welfare state that kills initiative. Life's a spiritual journey...we're looking for the right path.
We don’t want to be a second-world hellhole either.
Our ‘elites’ sold us out to the Chinese... Remember how Hillary ‘forgot’ the guy?

“People dont kill themselves because their neighbor has more money. They take their life when they can see no way to get a job, support their family and regain self-worth.”
I hear that. Boy do I hear that.
It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better...if it ever does.
Obama voters were and are islamist facilitators.
When a society measures the value of human life in only dollars and things, life loses it value to the society in a bad economy. When we measure ourselves based on the amount of money we make and things we own; when we lose them, we see our lives as of no value. Globalism has turned people into meaningless widgets. When we lose our hope and trust in the power of God to help us when we are down, we feel hopeless and poor. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
We are not the things we own. We are not the money we make. We are children of God with tasks, attributes and value that can not be measured in material by us nor the sick society we live in.
My husband is one of those statistics.
I have blamed the “Lyin’ King” since it happened.
I guess I am not alone.
