Townsend Couple Recovering After Violent Pig Attack

TOWNSEND (CBS) — A Townsend couple is recovering after their pot-bellied pig attacked them both hours apart at their farm on Fitchburg Road Wednesday night.
Shannon Hernandez told WBZ-TV’s Nicole Jacobs that her five-year-old, 250-pound boar, Boss, attacked her, knocked her down, and cut her with his tusks. She said Boss was “edgy” because she had separated him from several female pigs who were in heat.

When I was a kid, we used to hang out at the base commander’s farm. The runt of a litter had to be nurtured by hand and became somewhat of a pet. He became very much like a dog. Then one day it went missing, and after breakfast they told us what we had. Lord were we kids (my sister, their 2 sons, and myself) all upset.

I love animals & do my best to care for my dog & cat; but
I couldn’t handle pigs & some other critters. - Ha. One day,
I was driving in to town & met a little calf which had
escaped from his pasture over a cattle gap. I started
nagging at him; he turned around & ran galloping back down
the road & back into his pasture - bawling at me over his
shoulder (talking back at me). He wasn’t going to last long
on that road if he stayed out.
